Ok so what’s everyone doing tonight? I’m home making a low carb version of “spaghetti”.

I got home late, threw a frozen meal in the microwave, decided to bake my brownies tomorrow and hope to get some decent sleep tonight. My allergies are killer! @jc2018 I lived in Rosepine, Louisiana about 34 years ago. Yeah, I remember. I remember yellow snow in the spring when the pine trees bloomed. I remember mowing the yard from February to November. I remember families taking their kids to get allergy shots. I had allergy shots. I may have to reconsider meds this year.
Nothing left to see.

Who remembers buying candy this way?
Mooolah comments on Aug 24, 2018:
I was not permitted candy as a child. So I have my teeth, I am svelte & I have no sugar addiction. This accounts for my pugnascious & cantankerous demeanor.
HippieChick58 replies on Aug 24, 2018:
Sadly I am addicted to sugar, via chocolate. My folks used to treat us with chocolate bars for good grades. My drug of choice for stress is plain M&Ms. Yes, I am plus size. I have figured out the addiction and cut sugar and am getting healthier. When I raised my girls books were treats. They all love to read. I am dealing with my stress through other methods. My granddaughter has a "bottle" that goes wherever she goes. I was thinking juice. No my daughter learned well from me, the bottle has water in it.

My middle daughter would make Mac and cheese with Sriracha. Other than that she's an awesome woman. I keep sriracha in my house just for times they are here for dinner.

So many variables. So much that can go wrong. Some of the stuff wakes me up at night. I wake up reading medical records, or trying to make phone calls. Then the current news scene doesn't help, but compounded with my job, it is overwhelming. We have a fairly large turn over in staff because it is a tough job. I can see the stress on my coworkers faces. Some folks can handle it, some not so much.

@Deveno I live in the middle of a conservative backwater and I'm atheist to boot. I've done so many dating sites/services/processes, I've lost count. I am convinced a potential partner is not in my area, and I am not willing to relocate. The only way I can find a partner in my area is to have a lobotomy, and I'm not wiling to do that either. There is no dating up, down, or sideways in this equation. I will likely live alone until I have to move in with one of my kids, which is not good cuz then I'd end up seeing their dad much more often. Hopefully by then I will be senile and won't notice.

@azzow2 Thank you! I've always felt out of step with society, and within the last few years have really moved to embrace it. It is good to be self reliant. I dream of living off the grid, but never alone. So I do what I can to live in society with as small a carbon footprint as possible. I use reusable towels and personal wipes instead of paper towels and toilet papers. I make my own deodorant, toothpaste, and lip balm. I have a worm box in my pantry and a compost pile. When you call yourself a hippie, you can't be like everyone else.
