Have you ever walked out of a movie and why?
HippieChick58 comments on Mar 25, 2021:
Way back when I had a boyfriend who complained that I didn't want to go to movies he wanted to see. So I went to one with him. I ended up pulling my hood over my face and plugging my ears, but I sat through all of the movie. It was very violent. After that I never went to another movie that I thought would be violent. Boyfriend did ask if I wanted to leave, and I refused. to his credit he didn't seem to enjoy the movie either mostly because I was obviously unhappy. I have wished I walked out of the LOTR movies because I didn't enjoy them, but I was there with my kids and they were fans. I don't watch much violence or absolutely no horror. I did watch Saving Private Ryan, I was active duty for several years, as was the father of my children/ex husband. I did not sleep the night following the movie, I think it didn't help that we saw the movie very late in the evening. I don't think ex fared much better. I haven't been to a theater in years, and at home I don't have cable. When I watch movies they are the "feel good" type. I don't need violence or horror in my life, real life is enough of that.

Peduncle noun a flower stalk, supporting either a cluster or a solitary flower.
HippieChick58 comments on Mar 24, 2021:
I recognize Peduncle as being a med term. A peduncle is an elongated stalk of tissue. Sessility is the state of not having a peduncle; a sessile mass or structure lacks a stalk. ... There are in total three types of peduncles in the cerebellum of the human brain, known as superior cerebellar peduncle, middle cerebellar peduncle, and inferior cerebellar peduncle. Polyps are sometimes pedunculated. And that likely told you far more than you really wanted to know.

My Grampie had the bushy eyebrows thing going, it matched his bushy mustache. As a child I loved it. Grammy did the eyebrow trimming when they threatened to impair his vision. I'm a natural blond. My leg and pit hair is also blond and hardly noticeable. I stopped shaving anything and everything years ago. The hair that is there has gotten finer and unless someone is way up close and personal it isn't noticeable. And if they're that up close and personal it better not matter. As for the pubic hair, I'm not going to shave it, but if someone else wants to I'm fine with it.

HippieChick58 comments on Mar 11, 2021:
My ex got out of lots of "family" chores by studied inefficiency and ineptness. When we met he was a good cook, after we had kids he would cook only one thing, and it was horrible. Washing up was half assed, and frequently things broke. He could be counted on not to break kids and to get them in bed at a reasonable time. After we split the kids confirmed he only did what was absolutely necessary in the realm of housework. He liked to pour a glass of OJ and take it up the stairs and down the hall to his study, and the kiddoes confirmed there were OJ stains in the carpet all along that path. He did repair chores around the house, but it was guaranteed to be at least two trips to the hardware store, and hours of fussing, discussing, and whining. He did do the lawn mowing and snow removal. Fixing cars was done by the dealer or other repair/maintenance place.

I don't know if she has even been able to resume working, or how he is doing, or she is doing. Yes, the stress of daily life recently has escalated, but in the long run things are getting better. My opinion on hair is that it will grow back.

I choose not to because I don't want to be the one to teach those words to the grands (so long as the grands are not in the car with me in heavy traffic, then all bets are off.) I will choose to stay away from those who don't delete the expletives. As far as I am concerned, folks who swear all the time are too lazy to develop a larger more descriptive vocabulary. There are so many other words out there that are descriptive enough to get the point across without offending. Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell and making them look forward to the trip.
