I am an introvert, and current count is 449 friends. That is down from over 600. I used to be a SAHM, and I used to play several games on FB. The games are far more fun if you have friends that are players, you get more stuff. Trump's election brought a purge, and I've been purging non active folks ...

@tryingcake I didn't mean to imply that you were depressed, and I've been stood up a few times, it sucks. I'm saying don't waste your time waiting on an ephemeral being, make your life with what you have. I do what I wanna do when I wanna do it (except for work.) If someone shows up who might fit I will make room, but I'm not waiting for them to show.

@Hathacat I started life 50 miles west of where I live now. Grew up 150 miles west. Joined the army right out of HS. Have lived all over the US (Western Washington, Maryland, Virginia, Louisiana, Kansas, Massachusetts to name a few) and overseas, moved 23 times. In the military men are sir and women are ma'am.

No, private schools aren’t better at educating kids than public schools.

Things I've heard about parochial schools made me glad I didn't put my kids in them. My kids got good educations at the local schools, but I always had them reading and limited their TV so they were always ahead of their peers.

@Hathacat I use ma'am frequently. I don't shudder when I'm called ma'am, and when I talk to my female bosses or seniors I will use ma'am. To me (60 years old, military background) that signifies respect but not marital status. I'm old school. 10 years ago I did freak out one of my bosses by calling her ma'am. She was a piss poor manager and had questionable ethics.

I had a time where I met two guys that were recent widowers. Really recent. Like within a week. I dated one of them, after 3 weeks he realized he wasn't ready to date. When I met the second I told him to check with me in a year.

I can't count the number of times when I'm on the phone that someone calls me Mrs. I cringe. If you're not going to call me by my first name, which is the only way I identify myself at work, then you need to call me Ms. I unMrs'd myself long ago.

I'm due back at work on the seventh and am already suffering anxiety and sadness.

@Infoguy211 Thank you for that. That is not the gist of the article that I got, and apparently most of the other female readers. What we're seeing is intimacy can be painful. Women's pain does not get researched as much as male pain does. If/when intimacy is painful we need a partner who is willing to listen and take care. For men bad sex might be not getting your rocks off. For women bad sex is pain that lasts a long time. Sometimes women fake orgasm just so the male will finish and the pain will end. Did you read any of that in that article?
