IKR! I am 100% certain that 75% of evangelical xians have NOT read the Buybull. I'm guessing the figure is really higher. They go listen to the pastor and get their tickets punched, believe they're on the fast track to heaven. And the pastor is looking for more money, tells them what they want to hear so they will dig deeper in their pocket and buy him a new jet. Most of them aren't even going to church, they get their church from the TV or fishin.

Why does it seem in modern society that we need some form of validation from others?
Ellatynemouth comments on Jun 30, 2018:
We all need validation.
HippieChick58 replies on Jul 1, 2018:
@jlynn37 No, that was not what I meant to convey. If you continually do not get validation then I think it adds to mental illness. Children who grow up in abusive homes for example. Did you ever see "Mommy Dearest"? Children especially, but we all need positive feedback. My previous job, when we screwed up they made sure we knew and management did not go to bat for us. Current job, when we screw up we're coached on what we did wrong and what would have likely worked better. Lots of positive feedback.
Amazing.

Age range for dating
HippieChick58 comments on Jun 30, 2018:
My kids are 26 to 33, I am 60. A few years ago they "strongly suggested" that I date someone at least closer to my age than to the age of my oldest. So, doing the math, someone not more than 13 years younger than I am. I'm comfortable with that. On the high side, depends on how well they have aged.
HippieChick58 replies on Jun 30, 2018:
@Arshi My situation is more to keep peace with the kids. Post divorce was kinda rough. If their suggestion was outrageous I'd have shut them down, but I thought it was reasonable and pretty much in line with my thinking. They're going to be my caretakers as I get older, no sense in pissing them off now.

The gist of the site: Michael Moore just broke the internet with megaviral response to Trump’s caged kids atrocity BY VINNIE LONGOBARDO PUBLISHED ON JUNE 19, 2018 18k SHARESSHARE THIS STORY Iconic documentarian Michael Moore is upset as the rest of us about the separation and internment of innocent children after they are ripped from the arms of their asylum-seeking families. Don’t tell him, however, that the abominable practice is un-American. Moore went on Facebook today with a post that explicates exactly how this loathsome episode currently taking place fits right into an arc of American history that most of us would rather ignore or forget: Facebook's new algorithm changes have decimated the reach and the ad revenue of independent news sources like ours. Please become a patron of our news website and help us pay our writers by making a small contribution: View our Patreon page > “Ah, America! We’ve gone from separating Indian babies from their parents (and then exterminating them), to stealing babies from their slave parents (and then re-selling them into slavery), to building a country on child labor (working in factories as young as 8-yrs. old), to incarcerating Japanese-American toddlers in internment camps, to allowing priests to sexually abuse children for decades, to forcing buckets of high-fructose corn syrup down kids’ throats until half of them are part of a childhood obesity epidemic, to turning our schools into killing fields because we love our guns more than we love our kids — who the hell are we kidding?”, Moore begins his post. While many may accuse Moore of ignoring all the positive progress that has been made in this country in favor of a litany of abuses that until the Trump-era seemed to be of the past, he rightly points out that our rose-colored self-image as a country is often in opposition with our actual history. “Stop being shocked and surprised that Trump is kidnapping Hispanic children from their parents as if “this isn’t who we are!” Yes, it is. It has ALWAYS been who we are. Don’t say Trump is violating “our American values.” Abusing children IS an historic American value. Be proud, America — Trump is us,” the filmmaker continues. That nausea-inducing thought is certainly not true of all Americans, but Moore’s point seems to be that, as a nation, we have tolerated behavior antithetical to our publicly stated values many times in the past and need to stop fooling ourselves into thinking that the behavior of the Trump administration is without precedent. Moore continues his provocative statement with an exhortation and a suggested plan of action to end the current cycle of atrocities. “(In order to stop this madness we need to stop telling each other fairy tales about the...

I disagree, I think it was very helpful information that can be used by those who don't have access to therapists as well as those under the care of a therapist. Perhaps by using these tips it will delay or defuse a crisis that might send someone to a therapist or hospitalization. I've found myself questioning my own thought and realizing some were fairly irrational. Once I realized that I was able to regroup much more quickly.

It's a simple solution. Stop breeding and stop buying what you don't NEED.
HippieChick58 replies on Jun 24, 2018:
The trouble is when you're poor and living in the poorer part of town everything is more expensive. For example, diapers/formula/toilet paper/paper towels etc are cheaper in the Target stores in the suburbs than they are at the city area. Doesn't make sense at all, and that applies to more than just Target it is all retailers. Also, when you're poor you don't buy the giant economy size because you can't afford it. You buy the smaller packages which work out to much more expensive per item like toilet papers. Not have babies, too late once their conceived if you can't afford or can't get birth control. I am living proof that the rhythm method doesn't work. Being poor isn't a choice, and once you are there are huge obstacles to digging out of poverty. Don't get me started on rent!
