@Cast1es Each of the poll responses should be an answer to the question posed by the poll. You have 4 questions which you think need yes or no answers. A poll should be one questions with however many answers you think are appropriate. For example the poll could ask: would you be willing to date someone in debt? The answers could be: A: Yes, B: No, C: Depends on the total amount, D: depends on the repayment plan, E: Depends on whether or not he/she is fabulously good looking.

My job has a significant customer service portion and lots of days people just suck. Now, I have savings and retirement funds, but I'm too young to qualify for Medicare and private health insurance is way too expensive for me. My job adds to my security and therefore my happiness by providing my health insurance. But then is that work or slavery?

@maturin1919 but IF I have a deadline, and pressure, then it becomes work. I love to make quilts and sew. I love it because it relaxes me, and it is fun. I can go in an work on a quilt for however long I have and enjoy it. IF I have a deadline it becomes less fun. I have to make time to work on it. It becomes something else to be ticked off a list. If I have to sell that quilt to make money so I can afford to do the next quilt, then there is another hurdle. And if I am making a quilt to someone else's color and pattern choices... I made a quilt for new grandson, would never have chosen the colors but that was the colors the baby's mama wanted. I'm glad I did, they love it and use it, but is not my favorite project. As for my current job, yes there are things I love about it, like the paycheck and benefits, and I help people. Downside is pressure, stress and sometimes people are just freaking mean and crabby even when you're doing the right things. Definitely work

I'm not fond of abreviations, people speaking in code. What is OM?
HippieChick58 replies on Jul 4, 2018:
Say OM out loud, very slowly. Feel the vibrations in your chest, and hold it as long as you can. That is an OM.
I was reminded of something the other day.

OM? Like.... "OHMMMMMMMMMM" ??

precisely, and feel the vibration of your diaphragm. It's actually very relaxing, but seemingly not for the kitties.
Should We Be Patriotic? - TheHumanist.com
ArdentAtheist comments on Jul 4, 2018:
We should want the best for the people and the world. Our means to accomplish both is in having an inclusive patriotism that welcomes immigrants. The words on the Statue Of Liberty are important to me and should be important to us all, I hope they are. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your ...

In case you're wondering, Paul Joseph Goebbels was a German Nazi politician and Reich Minister of Propaganda - the Sarah Huckabee Sanders equivalent. This is funny :-)

Should We Be Patriotic? - TheHumanist.com
JoeLovesIt comments on Jul 4, 2018:
There's a galaxy of attitudes that could fall under the banner of "being patriotic" from a simple proud identification with the place of your birth to ugly nationalism. Maybe instead of asking if we should be patriotic the question should be how should we be patriotic.

I don't quite know how or why, but I didn't read this until about 5 years ago. I was just flabbergasted to have missed it for so long. It is a wonderful book.

HippieChick58 replies on Jul 4, 2018:
No, but I think he blocked me. I just checked out his page out of morbid curiosity. My cousin seemed to have an identity shift in HS. Hormones and rebellion, she married several times and had lots of kids. Like she had a lobotomy. I remember the happy free spirit she was in our youth. So much potential, so tragically wasted. Besides, it is good to know how others are thinking, or not thinking...

Immigration was welcomed as a way to build a nation until the people already here got all racist. Not many people speak Apache. American culture is a blend of lovable mutts that we are. And there is so much wrong with that painting I can't even.

Not too hot. The enzymes that fight allergies in honey will die at over 110°. I eat a teaspoon of raw local honey every day (well almost) and I have gotten off all allergy meds most of the year. About 5 days in spring I will take Benadryl to calm the sneezies and help me sleep.
