I dated a younger man once (only) he had gone to college on a baseball scholarship and then somehow blew that... worked in call centers but had recently quit, now was working in landscaping, and was looking for a woman who could "help him find his way." I told him that was his mama's job and all my children were grown up. Never saw him again. I have plenty of projects, don't need a man to be a project.
Serves him right for praying to a stupid god in the first place.
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 15, 2021:
I think this is hysterical. Like an almighty god gives a damn about a foolish football game. And then there is the assumption that people on both sides are praying for their team to win. What is a good god to do? Plagues and floods seem like a good idea to me.

I would like to offer some words of advice to some women – particularly young women, no matter how...
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 11, 2021:
And vice versa, women are under NO obligation to continually entertain the men in their lives. Each gender should have their own interests and expect you to have yours. It makes our time together more meaningful. I am slightly disturbed, @wordywalt that you have given this such a gendered slant. People ARE. Your posting could and should be aimed at everyone, not just younger ladies. My daughters had boyfriend who could not stand to be alone, like freaking leaches. Only small children need constant attention from others, and that lasts for less than 5 years. I've met a few men who needed constant hand holding, it was an absolute deal breaker. Never, ever tell me you're bored. When my kids did that I found unpleasant chores for them. They learned really fast how to entertain themselves. In fact from a young age my oldest was so good at doing her own thing. She had books, puzzles, dolls, paper and crayons; she'd be in her room for hours having a great time. Then she would come out with a pile of books, we'd read them, and then she headed back to her room, she had her fill of attention. I am great with my own company, so much that I may never be able to have another person living with me. Not that there are any volunteers at this time.
It's OK, we've got this.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 9, 2021:
I have heard of that, speaking in tongues. When I was a believer I was pretty mainline Protestant, (United Methodist) and I regarded those who spoke in tongues as weirdos and freaks. I still do. Imagine my amazement back then when I found myself at a service where someone spoke in tongues. I had gone at the invitation of a friend. Never went back, lost track of that friend, and I still feel vaguely unclean thinking about it. Mainline Protestants are referred to as the frozen chosen and that is so very, very apt.

This is good info I'm sure, but I can't read it. Granted I need new glasses, but I don't think I will be able to read it even then. I have horrible seasonal allergies and in recent years they have lasted all year. I have spent more than a few moments wondering if it was Covid or just the damn allergies. From the beginning of the pandemic I have taken my temperature usually twice a day. Allergies never cause a fever, and I have discovered my temperature is rarely a "normal" 98.6. If/when I run a fever I will be concerned, until then, I'm going to assume it isn't covid.

Update on my new Pain Medicine.
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 5, 2021:
I love WebMD: https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-91491/cymbalta-oral/details Duloxetine is used to treat depression and anxiety. In addition, duloxetine is used to help relieve nerve pain (peripheral neuropathy) in people with diabetes or ongoing pain due to medical conditions such as arthritis, chronic back pain, or fibromyalgia (a condition that causes widespread pain).Duloxetine may improve your mood, sleep, appetite, and energy level, and decrease nervousness. It can also decrease pain due to certain medical conditions. Duloxetine is known as a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). This medication works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain. How to use Cymbalta Read the Medication Guide and, if available, the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start using duloxetine and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually 1 or 2 times a day with or without food. If you have nausea, it may help to take this drug with food. Swallow the capsule whole. Do not crush or chew the capsule or mix the contents with food or liquid. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. The dosage is based on your age, medical condition and response to treatment. To reduce your risk of side effects, your doctor may direct you to start this medication at a low dose and gradually increase your dose. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time(s) each day. Keep taking this medication even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when this drug is suddenly stopped. Also, you may experience symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, mood swings, headache, tiredness, diarrhea, sleep changes, and brief feelings similar to electric shock. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased to reduce side effects. Report any new or worsening symptoms right away. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.
