I am WFH so don't need to go out. I was victim to our scheduled power outage of one hour. It started at exactly 0830, and ended at 0930. I messaged my supervisor and sat by the window and knit for an hour with a throw quilt on my lap and a jacket. My employer is not penalizing us for the hour of unscheduled time off as it is happening all over the area. I have not cleared my driveway, front walk or steps and porch. One of the neighbors has cleared the front sidewalk. I suspect it is the neighbor to the west, as the community mail box is to the east of my driveway. I am delaying ordering from Amazon until the steps/porch are clear. My expected visitors come in through the garage. Unexpected visitors are SOL. Monday's expected high is to be in the 40s, I will be relying on that to clear the drive, my house faces south and the sun does a damn good job when it has a chance. One of my kids delivers my groceries, and I have meals stocked up that will last for weeks. As long as the water lines don't freeze I'm good.

I've got -8° at the moment, and several inches of snow on my driveway and sidewalks/steps to the front door. The neighbors have gotten the front sidewalk, but they guy that does it has his own self interest at heart, he has to cross in front of my house to reach the mailbox. I haven't cleared the snow as it is too damn cold. I am also cutting the Amazon driver some slack, I have some stuff I need to order, but I'm going to wait until the sun melts the snow off, or it warms up enough that I feel like I can get out and move the snow. I'm thinking I'm waiting for sunshine. The good news is the cold/snow keeps the fire ants and termites away. I'm thinking "enough already! Those suckers are dead fer sure!"

I had a visit with Lydia Mae yesterday, my newest granddaughter. She was born 5 weeks early on Boxing Day. She was not due until two weeks ago. I did notice her fontanelle is just as it should be. We had a nice little chat. Well, she mostly slept :) I chatted with her mom, her brother, and her auntie.

The pandemic has not changed much for me, except I see my kids less. I've pretty much given up hope of meeting someone. I do miss the kidlets, they're so good for hugs and amusement. One of my kids delivers most of my groceries and I ended up not seeing her for two weeks due to her quarantine after a (false) positive covid test. My book club has been meeting via Zoom which has saved me some money... we used to meet for lunch on Sundays at a restaurant. By far, the quarantine is not the worst thing that has ever happened to me, it is just another doggone bump in the road.
