HippieChick58 replies on Feb 25, 2018:
My late former father in law used to say "I was down one day and someone told me to cheer up as things could be worse. So I cheered up, and sure enough things got worse." However, every day I have to get out of bed and go face crabby people, and so far every day I have chosen to be happy about it. I am employed and my manager is fantastic and my company provides decent benefits, and I'm not working outside in the cold. So to anyone who meets me I'm reasonably happy. Could I be happier, oh hell yes. But I choose gratitude, I choose happiness, I choose to look on the bright side, else why go on?

That just triggered a memory. When I was pregnant with my youngest (she is now 26) I had a very vivid dream, in full color. In my dream she was already born and I was wrapped in blankets in our family room, I was nursing her and she pooped all over everything. Her father was in the doorway and I asked him to take her and change her, and he ran away laughing! I was so angry with him, and woke up immediately. Had he been in the bed with me I'd have slugged him, and I was angry with him for the rest of the day.

That would have saved me some time and energy, but I found out anyway. My oldest is trying to convince her new husband that they need a golden. He has two cats, and he's not sure on the dog thing, They have a baby coming in May. So girls do have the dogs, and guys do have cats. I love my kitty girls because they are OK with my crazy hours. I tried boycotting Chick-Fil-A. But, my hunger and desire for a semi-healthy quick meal won the battle. Their employees really are hand over fist more pleasant that most other quick meal places. I also wouldn't go into a Hobby Lobby for the longest time. Until I went with a friend who needed ...

Having lived in Louisiana, I remember when the DeRidder/Leesville area got the first Walmart and how excited we were. That was 34 years ago. I now live in an area where there is lots of choice. We recently got several Chick Fil A's. I went in one just to see how it had changed. Maybe because it was new, service was not good. As there are literally hundreds of other fast food places in town I will skip Chick Fil A. can get healthy at Panera or Chipotle. I don't decorate for any holiday, so that isn't an issue. If I did I'd go to Jo Ann's and/or Michael s. I don't ever go to Walmart, I have Target closer and Costco that is convenient. Each of us has to make the decision whether to support a retailer or not, and we have to live with the decision.

@jacpod I work in short term disability claims, and have frequent anxiety. Lots of room for errors to be made. We deal with people who have had close encounters with the medical system/can't work and we control their replacement income. No stress there. 78% of American live paycheck to paycheck, anything that delays a paycheck can be a crisis.
