Money is an agreed upon medium of exchange. It represents the amount of time I spend at work that I can exchange for stuff I think I need, food, shelter, movie tickets. Money is a tool, it has no characteristics of being good or bad. It can be used for good or bad, just like a hammer can.

She got in trouble for some other stuff and in the fallout of that was out of school for a semester, and grounded until she was able to go back to school. I made her stop smoking cold turkey. She hated me then, but she has never smoked again.

Way back when I was in the Army I was in an NCO training program. We were learning to do training and give lectures. We had to give a training talk and everyone else would critique us I counted the "you knows" in one of my classmates talk. After I hit 50 I quit counting. Made me batty. I did mention that.

@paul1967 Thank you. My motivation for dropping weight is the floor is way too far away and difficult to get away from. I have a granddaughter now, she was born Christmas 2016. Second grandbaby due in May. When the grandbaby is here, I'm on the floor with her. And now she can move sooo much faster than I can :) That and fewer aches, better for knees and hips.

@Coffeo I love my cuckoo! I usually don't hear it unless it is running slow or fast. I used to have two cuckoo clocks and a Grandfather clock from the Black forest. The oldest has the GF Clock, though it needs work. The youngest has the other cuckoo, it needs work and her husband wanted to tinker with it. All my clocks came from Germany.

I lived in Western Washington from '93 to '99. I think it helped to cement my liberal mindset. Gary Locke was governor, I think. The ex retired from Ft. Lewis, got a job with an IT start up, we settled near Everett. Then we moved to Kansas :(

@Redcupcoffee I have to see the ex about every other month, the kids like to do family celebrations, and the youngest and the grandchild now live in his house. He frankly needs a keeper. And yes, I only allow people to get close to me who support me and as you said care and nurture. Which is why I've been celibate for some time now. I'd rather be single and celibate than putting up with someone to not be alone. I don't mind being alone, I'm good company ;) and then there's those two crazy critters I live with.

January 13, 2021 My newest and smallest grandchild. She arrived 5 weeks early and is now 2.5 weeks old and is less than 7 pounds. I've never held such a small baby before. She is quite perfect and very amazing. I love being a Grammy.
