I was born and raised into Christianity but was always highly skeptical as I recognized there were literally thousands of other religions in the world claiming to be the "only" righteous belief system and road to salvation as well. Ultimately I came to terms at age 26 (now 34) that my only reasoning remaining in the circles was my fear of accepting reality - that being there is most likely no consciousness following death and I will never again see those I've lost. It's made me appreciate the "here and now" of every moment far more.
