What is a dirty little secret about an industry that you have worked in, that people really ought to...
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:

Feeling a bit lost in many ways.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:
Sounds like you were in GB or Italy, or? (left side driving) I was born in Germany and lived there off and on as a military dependent, and again on active duty during my own hitch in the AF, but I lived in the American microcosm of being on-base, so the cultural immersion wasn't anwhere near living on the German economy. I can imagine how different it would feel if I had though. At least you speak the lingo. =]
I'm kind of surprised so many atheists are leftists, but I guess it's the natural need people say ...
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:
I must be one (Anacrcho Capitalist). I had to look it up. LOL! I agree with the fundamental tenets, but I HATE that term. It negatively connotes it to be an out-of-control system when it would, in fact, be a self-regulating system based on a simple set of laws. I much prefer the term "Laissez Faire" capitalism, which is essentially the same thing.
Do you spend time debating your views on religion with the religious?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:
They have an agenda (these people you're talking about) so they are not really interested in your opinion, or in a debate. I do not seek out religious people to debate and I'm not on a mission to deconvert anyone (but I'd be happy if they all just "saw the light" and stopped believing tomorrow). However, if someone engages me, I'm happy to offer my opinion, which is rather strong. =]
Finally! A religion I can get behind!

What are the best TV series/shows you ever watched or are currently watching?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:
At the risk of exposing myself as the couch potato I truly am... Also, I'd point out here that there are SO MANY great TV shows out there now. Netflix and Amazon are producing excellent stuff. These are all shows I love, in no particular order: Star Trek TNG (Discovery looks good but I ain't paying for it, sorry) The Walking Dead Game of Thrones Westworld (this show is so much different, and better, than the film it's based on) Breaking Bad Dexter American Horror Story (most seasons) Battlestar Galactica (the original was groundbreaking, but too campy. Remake is excellent) Black Mirror (if you haven't watched this show, it's very good. Sort of Twilight Zone-y, but with technology) Jessica Jones (Marvel) Iron Fist (Marvel) Luke Cage (Marvel) Daredevil (Marvel) Agents of Shield (Marvel. I like this show because it ties in with the film matrix) I could go on. LOL!
Most attractive actor/actress? Or other well known face.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:
He's missing a stache & goatee. LOL! Well, I think there are many, many gorgeous celebrities. Thandie Newton has been mentioned in this thread and we get to see every inch of her in the HBO series, Westworld. (excellent show, btw). I think Krysten Ritter, currently starring as Jessica Jones (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krysten_Ritter) on Netflix, is stunning. Her character is not glam at all but you can see her physical beauty regardless. She was also on a short arc in Breaking Bad, another great show.
Does online dating actually result in long term happy relationships?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:
In the Jurassic age of online dating, before the existence of any dating site, back when AOL was King of the Internet and Earthlink was still an up and comer, you could chat online either 1:1 or in "rooms." I met my now ex in such a room. She was smart, witty, and had a sarcastic sense of humor, just like me (well, the sarcasm anyway). We soon moved to 1:1 chat and after about 4 weeks of chatting and talking on the phone, we had our first F2F dinner date and were pretty inseparable after that. We eventually married and were together for close to 20 years. So it's absolutely possible, although online dating should be better since it's now focused and organized. "Back in the day," you just met someone and got to know them. Now you have all kinds of data to help you filter out those you might be incompatible with. Does that work? Sometimes. Anyway, you're now in a pretty nice environment for getting to know people in a friendly climate. Have fun.
Most people have a best friend, that person that knows them better than anyone else.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 23, 2018:
These days I don't have a "best friend" I'm so close to they know me better than anyone else, but I do have a best friend I've known for over 40 years. He's a believer. Our lives have diverged wildly with him remaining steadfast in his faith and me going in completely the opposite direction. He's a smart man so I don't understand why he won't look at this rationally or logically, but despite our differences now, we have agreed to disagree on this and our friendship has endured the test of time and distance. There's no one favorite memory I can call out, but we both have a deep love of Lake Tahoe and have had great times there.
I have not been here long.

The 81-year-old Bodybuilder Who Inspires Others To Get Fit [youtube.com]
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
Awesome. I saw someone share a video on FB not too long ago with a guy who walked into a gym who was clearly in his late 70s or early 80s. He was wearing very bulky clothing and walked slowly and somewhat stooped over. I think he made like he was going to do some bench or something and the gym rats started giving him a hard time. He rips his sweatshirt off and he's this super buff guy who proceeds to do all kinds of impressive lifts and some gymnastics. Totally shuts the riffraff down. LOL! If there's no other evidence for the value of exercise, this is more than enough. Thanks for sharing.

What more important in a Song?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
The question seems rather axiomatic to me. There are songs with great lyrics and there are songs that are great musically. For me, it's possible to appreciate songs on either level. Some music, particularly Alt Rock, I find so catchy I just flow with the music and only later do I even try to pay attention to any message in the lyrics, or even to understand them. Another aspect here is that some song lyrics are written to fill the space and when you try to make sense of them, fughedaboutit. Take Hotel California, for instance. Yeah, there's a theme, but some of those lyrics are nonsensical. Other Eagles songs have this quality. They SOUND great, musically and lyrically, but are less meaningful. That's my take, anyway. =]

Do you care about what level you have achieved on this site?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
I think the level-up system is genius. It works. We're "rewarded" for participation with points which increase our levels, which are visible to everyone. So we all wear our level as a badge of experience. This all encourages participation. It's kind of fun too.
I'm not shopping here.

For the vets! In your opinion, what is the attitude of the rank & file in the armed services about ...
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
Interesting question. I completed my service obligation in December of 1983 and have only an opinion on what the current attitude is. My guess is that while the majority are probably still believers, ranks of non-believers is growing rapidly, just as it is in the rest of society. For my part, I can say that when I enlisted in 1979, I was a dyed in the wool believer, sickeningly "witnessing" to anyone who would listen in idiotic attempts to save their "immortal souls." In basic training (Air Force), I recall everyone went to church, mostly to escape the alternative of cleaning toilets or whatever in the barracks. I went too, and I was immensely disappointed at the concert atmosphere. I barely remember what the chapel was like, but there was a stage with a live band. There was no real message or lesson being delivered. It was just entertainment. This was the beginning of the end for me. I wouldn't say I became an Atheist as a result of the experience, but my opinion certainly changed at that time. New information later helped to change my thinking completely.
Do you feel that religion robs people of living life to the fullest?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
Most religions promise an eternal hereafter. This, IMO, diminishes the value they place on the one and only life they really have. So that's a big yes from me.
Does the ends justify the means?

IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
I wonder if a study/survey has been done to measure the percentage of flat earthers who are X-tian, or other faith-based religion? My guess is it would be close to 100%! That's not to say there aren't intelligent religious people. I know plenty, but I think they may be predisposed to believe in this type of horse shit.

A large mass of like-minded, non-judgmental (hopefully), intelligent people who will push you up. =] I have found this place to be much more of a social networking site than a dating site, which is fine. This is how life works, right? You get to know someone socially first and things may grow from there.
What's your inspiration?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
A little late to the party here, but this is a good question. I can't say there is anything I draw on or tap into, necessarily for inspiration. I certainly have had some downs in my life, but never felt compelled to pray for help. I just persevered, survived, carried on. I operate from a base of self-sufficiency, not wanting to be anyone's burden, ever.
Anybody do cruises?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
I've done a few. Cruised the Caribbean on Freedom of the Seas a few years ago and it was awesome. Also cruised the Mediterranean and Hawaii. Nothing planned in the foreseeable future as my situation has changed (single, single income). I have never NOT had a blast on a cruise. RC (Royal Caribbean) is an excellent cuise line, good value. Norwegian is good too, but not as good.
Did you ever find your calling? Or, are you still looking?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
My work history is long and somewhat boring. LOL! TBH, I still don't know what I wanna be when I grow up. I have some fantasies about what I'd LIKE to do, but in my current situation they are rather unrealistic. On the plus side, I am earning more than I ever have before and there is some potential for me to earn more. I am also building a retirement, so maybe when I "retire," I can look into something more fulfilling. Some things I have fantasized about: Being a Novelist Owning and operating a Gym Owning and operating a Pub As more of a fun job, in retirement, I wouldn't mind working in HI or Disneyland/WDW around vacationers. I think it would be great fun to work (part-time) in a resort/vacation environment.
Today I packed up the few things I have of my parents things.

Losing Faith in Humanity
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 22, 2018:
After skimming through the responses to your post I think plenty of evidence has been presented that "Humanity" is not a lost cause. I would add to this, however, that Humanity is made up of Humans, individuals. So it's important to remember that our "collective" efforts are almost never in-concert with each other. There are many, many individuals and organizations doing good things (and opinions on what's "good" will also differ wildly). So my advice is for you to have faith in yourself. You can't control anyone else. If enough individuals do the "right things," Humanity will be alright. =]

What's your idea of a first great date?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
As in "What should the date activity be?" Or what's a great outcome? I'll answer both. I think getting together for coffee or a drink in a public (safe) place and really talking to and getting to know one another would be a great first date activity. If you hit it off and found you had commonalities and just really enjoyed each other's company and came away wanting more...That'd be a great outcome to me. ☺
Has the US lost the 'moral high ground' to criticize other countries?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
Nope. We have had our political/military noses up eveyone else's business just about since WWII. We should focus on ourselves and quit trying to police the world and manipulate the world stage to our own ends. If we backed off and minded our own business (which would include a HUGE strategic and military contraction that would probably save hundreds of BILLIONS in defense spending) we would see rapid improvements internally (at least I hope the recovered revenue would have that effect). Then we need to work on our own political system and restore it to its original "form." I know many will disagree, but putting a true Libertarian into the oval office will create a sea-change in that area. Ok, shuttin up now. =]
The Mayor’s annual salary is $24,000, and Council members’ annual salary is $12,000.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
Who are these "you guys" you speak of? And you're way off-base on wanting higher salaries for public office. THAT is part of the problem. High salaries and excellent benefits and perks are part of what attracts "career politicians" to begin with. I hear what you're saying about bribes, but that is outright corruption. These are part-time gigs (from your own source) and should be treated as such in terms of salary.

Can you live without meat?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
I could (stop), but I'm sure I won't. Also, at the risk of pissing some folks off here, I don't subscribe to the theory of "animal rights." "Rights" are for individuals with conscious brains. Having said that, I am also not in favor of animal cruelty and would support development and sale of synthetic, or lab-grown meat products, provided they were indistinguishable in texture and taste from the real thing.
What are your pet peeves about photos on dating sites?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
My preference, particularly on a dating site, is that everyone post a picture of themselves. Appearances aren't everything, but they are something. So yes, pictures of the sunset, or the default, generic male or female avatar...not helpful.
Do you believe in the Faith and Freedom Coalition?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
This is the type of thing FFRF is fighting against. Support FFRF, subscribe to their communications and alerts, and act when possible in support of the separation of state and church. This coalition and everything it does is in violation of that.

How's your week going? What have been the good/bad/indifferent events for you this week?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
My weeks are fairly routine, but it's a busy routine. I have a teen-aged daughter who loves musical theater. In pursuit of this, she takes dance (tap and jazz), participates in a smaller performing arts company (where she also receives voice coaching, a bit of acting, and more dance instruction), and a larger youth-only, community theatre company. Mom and I are legally separated so we share custody and more or less split the driving (Uber) duty. Mom has a quasi swing-shift work schedule (she's a journalist and works from late morning to early evening), so she handles the run to school (this is temporary as our daughter is now permitted and practising to take the behind-the-wheel driving test), and I handle the shuttling TO all of the extra-curricular performing arts activities during the week. This is a constant. At work, I feel a bit overwhelmed because I've been given some tasks to handle that fall outside of the scope of my job. I do this in support of our "sister office," who are short-staffed and have some critical work that is piling up. Winter is lingering far too long for me here (in Sacramento, CA). I live in this state because I love warm, sunny weather. We've had temps in the 40s-60s for the last few weeks. I'm so over it. LOL! Last night, it rained cats & dogs and today more rain is in the forecast. Looking out the window at work (at least I have a window seat!) it's gloomy and overcast. Yuck!
When I told my mother I as an Atheist she just laughed and said she had known a long time.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 21, 2018:
Welcome to the community! Consider yourself fortunate. I belong to a number of FB atheist groups and see frequent posts from atheist "children" who are terrified of coming out to their families because they know there will be severe consequences. It's wonderful that your mom recognizes and respects your Atheism. Your situation seems more the exception than the rule.

Today's atheists are bullies -- and they are doing their best to intimidate the rest of us into ...
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 20, 2018:
The article author's "opinion" that we are dangerous is spot-on. Atheists are dangerous as hell because we are finally organized enough and a large enough minority to be heard after a few thousand years of having had to "sink in the mud" without being heard at all. He (and all religions) have good reason to be afraid. Their hoax is exposed and non-believers' numbers are growing faster than ever before. This trend won't stop either. I couldn't say how long it will take, but we could be witnessing the last, long, desperate gasps of Christianity, and possibly all belief in mystical skydaddies.
Should employers do pre-employment drug testing?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 20, 2018:
My drug of choice is alcohol. I have even only tried weed a couple of times during my misspent youth. I have never tried or "done" anything harder. Wait, there's caffiene. As a long-term, high-volume caffiene user I can state unequivocally that there are no negative side-effects with the exception of an occasional withdrawal headache when I don't get me some bright an early. Ok, now that my drug history is exposed to the world I'll say I think pre-employment drug testing is wrong. It sets the stage of mistrust, IMHO. I think it would suffice to let prospective employees sign a statement affirming they consume no illegal drugs. Then, depending on the work being done, the company could do random drug testing only for jobs where impairment would create a safety issue (usually vehicular or heavy equipment operation, or mfg/assembly line machine operation).

Why Men Send Dick Pics
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 19, 2018:
Maybe the title of this post should be "Why Men Send Unsolicited Dick Pics?" That is inexcusable. Men who do this are cowards hiding behind the relative anonymity of the Internet. Consentually, I have no problem with sending nudes back and forth, but would never do so without permission.
Hi there! I'm new to this site and just wondering what everyone thinks about it and if you've met ...
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 19, 2018:
You're right. I've said before this is more of a social site masquerading as a dating site. But that's cool, because we all engage socially first and, as you get to know folks you can privately contact the ones you are more interested in. The site is in its infancy, which is why you may not see a lot of local (to you) members, but that will improve with time. Welcome and have fun.
If the government picked up the slack, would America become less religious?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 19, 2018:
The last thing we need is "more services from the government." I'm sure this will ruffle some folks' feathers, but I believe "income inequality" is nothing more than a buzzword for socialists who would love to usurp and "redistribute" the wealth of this country "equally." Should this ever become the reality we live in in the US (and we are terrifyingly close to this already), I'm outta here. Religions and Governments are the two biggest problems we have. Getting rid of religion and reining government in to its proper role will allow Capitalism to function properly. This will fix a great many things. Part of reining in the gov't will be to eliminate the crony capitalism that gives all business a negative connotation. Sorry, showing my Libertarian roots here.
Monogamy
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 19, 2018:
I think we (mostly Americans) have had it so ingrained into our psyche that monogamy is "normal" by the Christian religion, that polyamory has a negative and abnormal aura about it for many people. I have never been in a polyamorous relationship and don't know if it would work for me or not. I think if everyone entered into such an arrangement with full honesty and openness and old prejudices didn't enter into the mix causing jealousy and creating other complications, it could work.
Should panhandling be prohibited?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 18, 2018:
Chiming in late on this. Not a fan of panhandling. I'm not opposed to helping people, but its impossible to separate the legit "down on their luck" people from the career panhandlers. I work too hard for my money to support someone else's lazy lifestyle. That said, I have no problem whatsoever helping someone I know is really trying to help themselves, and have done so more than once.

Why is so difficult for people to ask a lady / man out on a date?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 15, 2018:
It's not that difficult for everyone, but agree it is for many. And there are probably MANY reasons for it. Some of them are driven by social "norms" or "tradition." Also fear of rejection as you and others have mentioned. Especially if someone has been rejected in an embarrasing or hurtful way. I could see that making them very fearful and gunshy. Some folks are just extreme introverts and engaging with someone scares the shit out of them. On this site, which is still growing, members are often separated by great distance and the this might be a real or perceived obstacle to them. I fall a little into this camp, but that wouldn't stop me from reaching out to anyone here who I was attracted to.

Is advertising immoral?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 14, 2018:
As a rule, I do not believe advertising is immoral. Are there some unethical companies? Yes. Do they employ questionable tactics in advertising sometimes? Yes. However, the industry is regulated and advertisers may not make false claims about products. Obviously, they often IMPLY some fantastic things about their products, but as has already been mentioned here, the choice is ultimately the consumer's. No one forces you to buy anything. Thank goodness we live in a country where we actually HAVE the choice to buy one product over another based on its own merits. Sometimes we have to do our own due-diligence as customers and that can be a pain. But immoral? I don't think so.

Nope, never been in that situation, but I think that is a reasonable conversation to have to weed out the "traditional" suitors who treat women like second-class citizens and expect them to sacrifice everything to be together. That kind of compromise should be based on other factors, or may not be an issue at all if both parties are ok with spending long periods apart.
Do You Follow The Movie Box Office Totals?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 13, 2018:
I used to subscribe to Entertainment Weekly magazine and they had a weekly box office tally. I used to enjoy looking at that, but I've never really tracked it. I did peek at the link you provided and it's definitely worth noting that Avatar (I'm a fan of both SW and Avatar) was released in 2009 and is still holding the #2 spot. If I'm not mistaken, Titannic held the #1 spot (also a James Cameron film) for a long time before it got bumped (and still holds #3!). Also worth noting are that James Cameron and George Lucas are huge movers and shakers in the movie industry. Lucas is largely responsible for theaters converting to digital format over film reels. Cameron pioneered a lot of the cutting edge digital content and, I think, the intentional filming of movies for the purpose of showing them in 3D (I know 3D has been around since the 50s).

This is an agnostic/atheist community site masquerading as a dating site. You "level up" here by just posting, commenting, liking, aka; participating. So jump in and don't be shy. Folks round here are pretty nice.
What is the end goal of human existence in your opinion?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 12, 2018:
There is none. Who speaks for all of humanity? No one. On a more individual level, I'd agree with others who have said procreation/perpetuation of the species is the goal.
Time
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 12, 2018:
This reminds me of the movie A.I. Haley Joel Osmet plays an android who endures all kinds of terrible experiences. He was an advanced human-like robot designed to be imprinted upon by his "mother" (the human female who purchased him). In the film, he is a ready-for-production prototype who goes home with an employee of the company who developed/built him. They (the company and the husband) feel it will help the wife because the couple's son somehow became comatose and has remained so for years, but she keeps hoping he will wake up. To shortent this up a bit, his troubles begin after the comatose son awakens and he is eventually rejected, but by then he has bonded with his "mother" and all he wants is her love and affection. He ultimately winds up frozen in a future ice-age and is reactivated by super-advanced A.Is who grant him his only wish; to see his mother again. They discover he has a lock of her hair in his possession and are able to quickly clone her. He is able to see her then, but is warned to not tell her what the actual situation is. She will die in less than 24 hours. The A.Is create a perfect replica of the former home and he spends a glorious day with her, from the moment she wakes up until they lay down to "sleep" at the end of the day, and he is fulfilled. So my wish would be to spend that day with my mom. I lost her to lung cancer in 2002 and have many regrets about past missed opportunities.
Immortality
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 12, 2018:
If I could live with at least my current physical ability and have good quality of life, absolutely.
I have been sort of estranged from my family for a while.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 12, 2018:
As others here have said, this is probably not the best event to use as a platform to "out" yourself. You could submit feedback suggesting a more secular location for the event. This would drop a fairly big hint. On the other hand, if you think this (a church service on her bd) is something she would really love, maybe it's best to just go with the flow this time and choose another time and place to come out. To me, mom's perspective is the most important one in this situation. Hope this helps.
If you could call yourself five years ago and had 30 seconds, what would you say?

Are we adapting to technology’s advances?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 12, 2018:
While I agree with much of what has been said in this thread (the negative comments/concerns about tech), I feel, overall, it is a boon. And we are on the verge of seeing far greater human/tech integration and use. Smartphones are the tip of the iceberg. Other smart devices are coming/already here that will further integrate us and help us to control our lives. Medical science, I believe, is poised to benefit greatly from tech, especially nanotechnology. More wearable tech is here/coming. Self-driving cars, neural linking (Elon Musk is pushing the literal integration of humans and tech). Big Brother, military tech are concerning.
What do you like most about yourself?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 12, 2018:
That despite two failed marriages, I have been able to maintain amicable relations with my exes to the benefit of my kids (one from each union). This has had the unexpected side-benefit of my daughter and my first ex developing a bond which has itself yielded some additional benefits.
Split decision on separation of church and state case - News - telegram.com - Worcester, MA
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 9, 2018:
It's a bad decision. Committing public funds to repair an active church is a clear violation of the separation of state and church. That's why the FFRF (at least I assume it's them) sued to begin with.
You’re as young as you feel? True or false?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 9, 2018:
It's true to a point, but as others have overwhelmingly pointed out here, you can't avoid the reality of age. I'm 56 and work pretty hard to keep in decent shape, but I've had multiple shoulder surgeries and definitely feel my age at times. I'll feel that way increasingly as my body rebels against my mind. LOL!
Would You Opt for Immortality? - Quillette
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 9, 2018:
I believe Humankind will eventually achieve biological immortality. IF there is such a thing as an afterlife, I am far more likely to believe it will be our "essence" uploaded somehow and preserved for download into another vessel (by technologically advanced entities, let's call them Aliens). I have no belief whatsoever in a mystical afterlife.
My husband's most recent.

Would you avoid naming your child a name with religious connotations?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 9, 2018:
It's a non-issue for me.
What's your condiment of choice?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 9, 2018:
I'm with you. Ketchup/Catsup, Teriyaki. We have a marinade available locally called Chakka Sauce that's really good. I love using it for marinating filet mignon for bbqing. My daughter dumps it on rice. LOL!
What's the etiquette on clicking the "follow posts" button?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 8, 2018:
Follow away. This is a very warm and welcoming community of folks who are mostly just happy to have a forum free of religious nutballs. Following someone just causes the site to send you an alert when they post something. It's also a good way to see who may potentially be interested in you. Welcome!
What makes a relationship last?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 8, 2018:
I think this differs with every relationship. Some factors for me would include (in no particular order): A certain level of compatability in several areas Physical Some similar interests Similar philosophy Non-believer (I think being with a X-tian could work now that my kids are fully formed, but I'd still favor a non-believer) Compromise (there has to be some) Honesty Communication Human realtionships are complicated things, IMHO. This just scratches the surface. LOL!
What’s the difference between snowmen and snowwomen? Snowballs.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 8, 2018:
LOL! What happened when the snowwoman had an argument with the snowman? She gave him the cold shoulder.
One of the same.
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 8, 2018:
Yep, it's all just wishful thinking.

"Do not be afraid, we are your friends" (said the aliens from Mars Attacks before they zapped you). Not sure how relevant that is here, but "his" post made me think of it. LOL!)
Life on other planets: if life on other planets is found--especially if that life is more advanced ...
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 7, 2018:
I think they will find a way to rationalize that "their god" is the god of everything, including any and all alien life in the universe, and everything else too.
Has anyone ever had an encounter with a celebrity?
IAMGROOT comments on Mar 7, 2018:
An encounter? Or a sighting? I've had both. I've spent a fair amount of time at Disneyland and have spotted Kobe Bryant there (apparently a regular there). I saw Corbin Bernsen in Vegas in a hotel lounge. Back at DL, my daughter spotted some "Internet celeb" I didn't recognize. LOL! Most notably, back in Anaheim while having dinner at Naples restaurant in the Downtown Disney complex, we found ourselves in a booth right next to Robert Carlyle, who plays Rumpelstiltskin on Once Upon A Time. He was just on vacay with his fam, like regular peeps. We waited until the last possible moment to approach them (More accurately, my ex-wife did). He was gracious and friendly in the extreme. Accommodating us with pics and conversation. A very nice man. I live and work in Sacramento, CA and a couple of years ago spotted Gov. Jerry Brown Jr. sitting outside a bar in the Midtown area. Meh. =]
