@FrayedBear What I know is that when we get back to ACT we are supposed to be in self-isolation for 14 days but who knows. It’s changing day to day. You know Sweden doesn’t have any isolation, people are told to be adults about it and keep a distance, wash your hands and gatherings of 50 or more are forbidden. They have so far 6000+ infected people, 350+ dead and of course those who have recovered. I have been following what is happening there and yesterday they had fewer infections and fewer deaths. So I don’t know what is best for all of us to do, only time will tell.

Certainly there was a back lash but it is not only about gay, religion or black/white, it has a lot to do with people fears and anger. Anger towards the Democratic party for being so Republican.
Jolanta replies on Feb 14, 2020:
@Bushshaker we all wish for something but often that is just a wish. How about just making the best of what you got, and the best for people in the US would be Bernie even if it would only be for four years. By the way many people who have had a heart attack can function perfectly well.

@Bushshaker You make it sound like age is always a negative and that is not so. Age brings in a lot of life experience one would hope and it brings in empathy sometimes too. No matter how old one is or how young too, one can always drop dead on the spot or get run over by a bus.
Being intelligent , unfortunately , does not mean a person is moral .
AtheistReader comments on Feb 13, 2020:
Morality doesn't interest me, as there can be many varying "moral codes." It's empathy that interests me ( and you can build a fairly coherent morality based on empathy). In the past and present, there are variants of moral codes that puts "greed" or "selfishness" as positive moral value. I ...

Many so called moral people empathise with others but still do bad things to them.

@dan325 Well, I have a different experience from Jewish people I have and do know. That is not how they "stick together". Not the way you are describing it at all.

@sassygirl3869 You cannot seperate the two. What is happening to the Palestinians has unfortunately big consequences for the rest of the Jewish people around the world.

Maybe “sticking “ together is not the right thing though. It brings on more bigotry, people are afraid of what they don’t know.
I am off on a cruise on the 25th.

I love cruising, and traveling in general. I hate to admit it, but if my tour operator (cruise line) or trip insurance (credit card?) would allow me to cancel a trip (especially a cruise!) to Asia in the next few months for minimal cost, I'd probably take them up on it. I have high hopes that ...

@callmedubious The life onboard is very pleasant. Lovely food, lots of new people to meet and being entertained morning noon and night is not to be sneezed at. Cunard line have a cruise that circumnavigates South America, it sails from Forth Lauderdale. I would love to do that one. It goes into the Amazon river too.
