@Heidi68 No I don't think him being better because he is old. I think it makes him more experienced. Just like I think I have more experience in life that a 30 year old. I also think that Bernie is more known than any other young politicians, that doesn't mean that I think they are any less. You need to realise that most people don't know much about politics or politicians and what they stand for and they certainly don't go out of their way to find out, no matter how unfortunate that is.
Bernie for President?
IAMGROOT comments on Feb 19, 2019:
No thanks. And I don't care how old he is.
Jolanta replies on Feb 22, 2019:
@IAMGROOT No, you are wrong. Bernie doesn't want to give away FREE STUFF, you need to listen better to him. What he wants is to stop the bailouts to Wall Street, stop the unfair distribution that is happening. He wants all Americans to benefit, not just the already rich. And why we are on the subject of Government interference then you are wrong too. Government is there to interfere, they are there to look after the people, they are there to make laws so people have clean air, can drink the water without being poisoned, can have a job that pays them a living wage, can buy that medicine that they need without it costing more than what they are earning, so yes Government interference is what is needed. What you don't need is lobbyists, lobbyists who give money to politicians and corrupt them.

Sorry she does not understand economics very well and I hope she does so quickly.
Jolanta replies on Feb 16, 2019:
@callmedubious I agree with you about Wall Street and what else you are saying but why would you block anybody. If you get into the habit of doing it your mind will not get anybody else’s point, and sometimes people have different experiences than us and can teach us something we were not aware of. If people annoy me, I just don’t read what they say anymore.
I'm still not convinced climate change is a problem. Can you convince me otherwise?
Shouldbefishing comments on Feb 16, 2019:
It depends. You used two different terms in your post, "climate change" and "global warming". They are not mutually exclusive, although most people use them interchangeably just like how people use the term "agnostic" to describe a theological middle ground between Theism and Atheism. Is it ...
Jolanta replies on Feb 16, 2019:
You are right about science being conducted on facts and I would say that there are far more scientists who say that climate change is man made than not. You have to have a good look at the ones who say that it’s not, where does their money come from?
I had something happen Monday night that made me feel great, and I wanted to share.

While I don't condone trophy hunting, I am somewhat ok with it because they usually pay fees to do it. Those fees (are supposed to) fund conservation efforts for the rest of the species. Whether or not those fees are being properly used is another story. I did just read the article though, they ...
Jolanta replies on Feb 16, 2019:
That is actually not true that it goes to conservation efforts. It is just profit for the owners of the game park. Some of the animals are just bread to be killed by these people.

People aren't going hungry. There is an epidemic of obesity in the USA. If you want to blame capitalism for the overabundance of food, then you have a point.
Jolanta replies on Feb 15, 2019:
@BD66 Would probably be good for you to actually try to walk in the shoes of someone who didn't have the same education as you, who did not have the same chances and opportunities as you either, etc, etc. Not everybody in this world has that, start thinking outside your cozy box.

@BD66 You know what, how about educating them instead of making them feel less than they already feel. Or how about people in the US get a living wage, that would help. By the way you are opening an opportunity for huge exploration here. Do you honesty think that it can be achievable. I can see some rich bastard taking advantage and getting concessions from the government just to be able to put that kind of labels on goods. Already companies are screaming about having to write what is in products.

Jolanta replies on Feb 14, 2019:
I don't, but have friends that do. We go down now and then. I am not much of a beach person, I get bored sitting on the beach, trying to get a tan. Bad for your skin too. I could get a beach house but that means having to go there every week end and it is three hours away, would take up far too much of my time. This way it is much better I get to go now and then and I don't have all the upkeep and cleaning another house either.
