I love Halloween! and every now and then, even throw a huge party and dress up like a nun. Dressing up as a nun is probably extremely offensive. I work my ass off and even invest my money to just scrape enough to barely get me by until I could get my hands on my 401k. I certainly am not the only one that feels that way. If it wasn't for the Affordable Care Act, I would not have health insurance at all. I know many people who don't have kids and work two jobs that have a tough time keeping up with bills and Healthcare. You can't even rent a decent apartment in Raleigh North Carolina for under a 800 bucks a month .I work for a large grocery store chain, and they have done nothing but cut benefits over the years. My grandfather got a lot of compensation and job security for being a good employee. He was well loved by the staff and students alike.That is unheard of today. I have watched as people who have 30 and 40 years with the company simply get tossed to the side. Too many jobs are dead-end jobs that do not keep up with the cost of living. Walmart employees make $11 an hour , but only get 8 hours a week to offset the drain on the billionaire owners .I don't think that people rely on the government, but for example, expecting a single parent to pay $2,000 a month for healthcare(so insurance companies could get rich) is a sure-fire way of ruining the entire Healthcare System. Having health care that is Way Out Of Reach for the average person forces them to go to the emergency room for treatment. We all wind up paying extra because of the uninsured. I support a Universal Health Care System where everybody pays, because everybody should use Healthcare System. This ties into the topic because mental health issues / depression are certainly one of the primary causes of mass shootings. If we want to address mental health issues and depression and its association with crime,we have to make diagnosis and treatment affordable for all.

I don't live in the best neighborhood in Raleigh, so I see some teenagers roaming the streets, who if you ask me, are headed for prison in the near future. It's too easy to say their parents don't give a shit about them, they're just a lost cause and there's nothing we could do. That's bullshit! these kids are going to be the next gang members ,murderers and who knows what else. It's this group of underprivileged teens that need help the most. Technically there is a lot we can do .we can invest in programs for After school and in our communities for high-risk kids. Schools are full of awkward males who are bullied relentlessly. Perhaps something could be done when teachers begin to notice this. The one thing that won't help is if their parents have an arsenal of God damn weapons in their homes. The Availability of weapons in a society that believes that violence and death threats cure all ills ,I believe, is one of the reasons why school shootings are viewed as being a completely normal and acceptable part of living in a free Society . There may be people that may have an issue with the last statement, but in our culture if you don't put your money where your mouth is your words are as meaningless as your thoughts and prayers.
