Lisa Ling did one of her shows all about the young women who pair up with older men - they are called Sugar Babies - and they are quite frank and upfront about why they do it. Mostly its about security - financial and otherwise. Their college tuitions are being paid for - their living expenses, etc etc. A couple of the men claimed there was no sex involved (I find that a bit of a stretch but...whatev's) - they just were happy to have an adoring young female hang on their every word and provide companionship. I thought the show was really interesting.... I don't know how true this is but I was told there was a time in Japan when a woman turned 40, she "retired" from servicing her husband and selected a young woman to take her place. That's interesting , don't you think? As for the younger men being drawn to older women - I have a younger husband and when I asked him why he wasn't chasing after all that young stuff he simply said that women his own age were vapid and way too self involved for the most part. So I'm guessing that its not all about the drop dead gorgeous good looks - the toned body - apparently one does not have to be a femme fatal to be appealing to a broad cross section of the male population. Seems reasonable to me... :)

Absolutely - the more issues you mention or complain about, the more likely you are to be given yet another "diagnosis" (label) along with yet another prescription - in some cases for something that was only a temporary "glitch". We all have temporary or transient little aches or pains or allergic reactions or indigestion or acid reflux...etc etc etc. Many times they resolve on their own. Every medication that you take comes with a long list of potential side effects - some of which are 10 times worse than what you're being treated for. Not saying you shouldn't seek medical attention or listen to your Doctor - but read those package inserts and ask a lot of questions. A doctor is only as good as the information you give him/her - so remember that you are, ultimately, the one in charge of your own health care so be informed and try to keep a positive outlook and attitude...

The "yowling" is what our sweet Rummy did for most of her last year with us. She was 20 at that time and she, too, didn't display any signs of pain or discomfort - I think the yowling may be because of some kind of mental disorientation or confusion....she did it mostly early in the mornings and around sundown. So give her as much love and attention as you can... so sorry you're having to deal with this. :(

When my boys were young - Christmas was all about them. After they were grown, I enjoyed baking and putting together little gifts for my coworkers. I loved decorating the house - inside and out - and that continued even after I retired. I always say "this year I'm not going to mess with all of that".....but, of course, I always do. :)
