Leafhead comments on Oct 29, 2018:
Milk makes me shit myself, but people who can drink it should get whole milk. I am a believer that whole foods that are 100% unfucked with are healthier and contain less chemicals. That goes for decaf coffee too. Too many noxious chemicals are used in the decaf process. Stay whole and organic.

@Lavergne Lactose tolerance as adults separates us from other Mammals and was crucial in our evolution. I was able to drink milk well into my 30's before my lactase maker just kinda petered out. Not all peoples are lactose tolerant; mostly those of dairy culture can digest milk.

Thanx. He got himself a little attitude. The other lizards are like "meh" but he gets rowdy when anyone gets too close, especially the male Long Tail. Male-on-male contactis always iffy at best, even between different species. They smell the testosterone I definitely couldn't get away with another male gekko or LTL. Things are at an uneasy peace as it is with two males, but no direct competition for mates.

@PatriciaDorr24 You're more than welcome. Butterfly gardening is healthy for the environment, the soul and is very, very addictive! Once you attract your first butterfly, you'll be hooked. The appearance of caterpillars should further set the hook. All you need is the basics, which include A. Swearing off all forms of chemicals and pesticides in the garden. B. Host. Something for the caterpillars to munch on. Doesn't need to be front and center or eye catching. Natives work best C. Nectar. Front and center, flowers. Nectar is food for most adult butterflies. Avoid doubles, albas and other cultivars when possible. Stay native for best results D. Butterfly feeder. Some butterflies come to overripe fruit rather than flowers, and can be enticed with bananas and watermelon rinds. E. Shelter from wind, and sunshine.

@Fernapple For now there are plenty of potted natives to go around, at nurseries and farmers markets. But I'll always my that neighborly, down home feeling of those neighborhood swaps and sales

@Insectra Thanx, though it's an odd time to breed, and I've been finding eggs in inappropriate places, where they're unprotected. At any rate, brumation continues, and all lizards are healthy and happy. I'm hoping to see more breeding activity sometime mid February and after
Is there an evolutionary reason behind homosexuality?
Rabbittarius comments on Oct 14, 2018:
I honestly think it's for the sake of population control... Not specifically, but if you think about it, the more gay men there are, that's less competition for me in the harsh world of heterosexual romance...I need all the help I can get. So thank you gay people.
Leafhead replies on Oct 14, 2018:
You're welcome, and thank you for an honest and intelligent answer to my question.
Is there an evolutionary reason behind homosexuality?
Cutiebeauty comments on Oct 14, 2018:
Yes, I think so. Humans are constantly evolving... Just ask Darwin.
Leafhead replies on Oct 14, 2018:
Everything is evolving. I know that. I also think there is an evolutionary process leading to homosexuality in humans and other animals. I was wondering if anyone on this site knew why, like population control, ie

I started on this band wagon during the primaries, we now know who is running, vote BLUE, do not write in some mickey mouse shit just 'cause your choosen candidate did not make it unless your only option is a red trump supporter then by all means write in Horse's Ass.
Leafhead replies on Oct 13, 2018:
Ansolutely. Write in are throw away votes. You wouldn't wipe your assistance with your ballot, so why would anyone write in Mickey Mouse or Alice Cooper?

Not to mention, 45 and his minions are STILL on about the non-existent voter fraud, they STILL can't prove. Voter suppression is alive and well, and here in Georgia, there's even a lawsuit over it. Do not be surprised if 45 and the republicans try having many of the election outcomes challenged. ...

My mated female Long Tailed Lizard shows up thin this morning.
Alvinsmama comments on Oct 12, 2018:
Keep us posted. I was looking at them at Petsmart today. Just something to do with time on my hands. I looked at all the kitties for adoption, too. Wish I could have taken some of them home.
Leafhead replies on Oct 13, 2018:
LTLs are inquisitive, active little lizards that enjoy spending the day hunting and basking. They promptly investigate any changes to their territories, and are relatively curious. But they're FAST. A Long Tail can vault with that remarkable tail as soon as that cage door opens, so watch it! I feed mine gut loaded dusted crickets, wax worms and whiteworms. I'm hoping they'll take roaches and phoenix worms in Summer
