I tend to use names that hint a characters personality, or are diametrically opposed to the character role in the story. Such as calling an evil character Angelo, or Goodman. My favourite name I ever used was for a corrupt arms dealer named Hephaestus Finger, a bit pretentious but effective.

Movie being turned in to books, or Novelisation as they used to be called are invariably poor. Allen Dean Foster and James Blish used to be the go to guys for this, having written novelisation of Poltergeist 2, all of the star Wars original trilogy, Star trek, Alien and the Entity, back in the seventies and eighties. (To be fair Foster did write some unofficial Star wars sequels that were not half bad) However more recently in the 1990s Vonda McIntyre has written some good adaptations of films in the sci-fi genre usually putting back in cut scenes from films more character development and often improving bad dialogue. But in this day of extended editions, director's cuts and deleted scene extras I think the day of the novelisation is over.

I personally have fondness for the aquatic ape theory as an explanation for the evolution of both the human brain structure and the reasons behind hominid social cohesion. Though largely dismissed, a few others and I, still find it a satisfying explanation by reason of diet and the ingestion of larger amount of omega 3, for at least for the species diversification between humans and the other great apes, if nothing else.

It is the bullshit cop out argument used by all religions when they get caught, pants down, and hand in the till. The simple refutation is that this being the case how can anyone trust anything ever proclaimed as dogma or doctrine when it comes from an imperfect being? Only direct revelation without an intermediary can be trusted, and since Gawd seems disinclined to do this, we only have imperfect people who by definition cannot be trusted to pass on revelation perfectly.

My question is on forgiveness and learning to trust again.

A couple of things to think about maybe, and I am not judging or even really commenting. When you found the messages, did you read them? When he could easily have deleted all the conversations, did he leave them where you could find them? Did he want to get caught? Did you feel his privacy was not worth respecting? do you think he needed to vent to a third party, even knowing it was a catfish? did you feel the need to prove this person a catfish, for you? For Him? or for some other reason? And finally is trust something to be learned? Trust is like love you either do or you don't? Perhaps you both need to seek professional counseling.

When Peterson first emerged, he was portrayed as the saviour of free speech, the advocate of common sense. Slowly but surely he has simply degraded himself and used his fame and influence to be come the new champion apologist for Christianity, the legitimate and educated face of theological stupidity wearing the mask of science. I went from a deep respect of the man to deep disappointment in a matter of weeks. Though his take down of Cathy Newman was awesome and still a long over due moment of classic television.
