There is a story of a woman patient asking Sigismund Freud the meaning of the term Phallic Symbol. Freud tells her he will demonstrate, unbuttons his trousers and whips out his wedding tackle. The Lady patient studies it for a moment and then light dawns. "Oh I see," she exclaimed at last. "It's like a cock ... only smaller."

Well, unless you are of Afro-Caribbean decent or are an actual dog it is highly unlikely you's ever be the first to die in an American Horror Movie. If it is a British Horror film, you've a better chance of dying first if you are a minor celebrity doing a cameo appearance so your name can appear on the poster. In an Italian horror you should really be a catholic priest.

Gorgo and Me by Len Hazell Just when you think your day cannot get any worse, when you've got your first acting job in months and your car breaks down, when you break a heel on your last pair of heels and the cat decides to be sick in your flats; that... that is the day you nearly get run down in the street by a truck driven by an ass in a gorilla suit. I got up, dusted down my tuchas, and marched up to the window. “What in the Hell do you think you are doin'” I demanded. He rolled his eyes a bit in what I assume was an act of contrition, but since those were the only bit of the real him showing, it was a pretty wild guess. “ You Selena?” he asked in a muffled voice from under the mask. “How'd you know my name?” I demanded. The big ape then pulls off his own head and reveals himself. I'll be honest I seen worse, bit of a fuggly face, but smiling a big dumb good natured smile. “Who's askin'” I demanded. “ My name's George,” he said. “Phil asked me to come get you, said you got car trouble or somethink.” Typical of the way my luck was running, I swore off movies, especially B-movies back in the forties, I'm stage now, legit theatre, but this wunderkind asks the old man for a favour and I get strong armed. Heart o'gold that's me, heart o' gold and at the end of the day a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. “Okay, I'm Selena, thanks for knocking me on my butt Cheater.” Monkey boy grins and leans over to open the door for me. I tried to make a dignified show of going around the hood of the pick up to get in to what looked Noah's own pick up truck and sat down. “Where we goin'?” I asked. “Bronson Canyon.” he tells me wrenching the gears. I sighed, no surprise there, every wannbe film hack who can point a camera films in Bronson Canyon, that pit can be anywhere from Arabia to the surface of the moon and has been. I pulled the script out of my bag and took another look at it, MONSTER FROM MARS by Wyott Ordung, I read. There's a name to inspire confidence. He looked over and grunted. “That's been changed,” he told me. “The whole script?” I asked. “Nah,” he laughed. “Just the title, the flick is now called ROBOT MONSTER FROM OUTTER SPACE catchy huh?” “Yeah, like lice.” As if to agree George began scratching his hairy body suit. “I'm the Robot Monster.” He declared proudly pounding his breast. “You're dressed as a gorilla.” I pointed out. He grinned that big lovable grin again but had the decency to blush a little. “Yeah I know.” he replied. “It's my own suit, that's why I got the part. See Phil wanted a real robot, but like that costs a lot, so he has this brilliant idea and calls me.” “So why isn't it called gorilla monster from outer space then?” ...

Who is the true Mormon?
LenHazell53 comments on Aug 2, 2018:
Not the first time, SWK also called the teaching of BY that Adam was God incarnate an abomination. It is interesting to not though that while Bring'em Young is still honoured as the second prophet of the church, not one single, not any original teaching of Brigham Young is considered doctrine by the LDS anymore and most of his teachings if practiced at all (or even advocated) are considered grounds for excommunication. The man was a foul, bigoted, murderous, syphilitic, horror of a human being, who was probably murdered in a conspiracy between three of his wives and his doctor to poison him by an overdose of arsenic.

Yes this was Cardinal Burke, or should that be Berk ( as in cockney rhyming slang Berkley Hunt) back in 2015, the same silly twat who has said abortion should be a capital offence, that the Pope knows less about catholicism than he Burke the nerk does and that the Pope should have been honest and told that little boy his father was writhing in agonising hell fire forever, because that is what is happening to him and that all homosexuals are paedophiles. He I believe is also on record as saying that it would be better for gays to commit suicide as God is more likely to allow a suicide out of Hell, than a sodomite, becaus they at least had made an effort to try and stop sinning. He is a bucket full of charm that one.
Silly beliefs.
LenHazell53 comments on Jul 29, 2018:
As a former Mormon, there are so many insane beliefs I could not list them all. But for example Bigfoot is the eternally cursed Cain son of Adam wandering the earth till Judgement day Satan has power over water so swimming is a dangerous pass time for the devout God lives on a planet orbiting the Star Kolob at the centre of the galaxy There is a Mrs God The Adam God Doctrine is both true and an abominable lie, depending on which prophet you believe, even though both are guided *by* God That special underwear bought in the temple will not only protect your junk from Satan, but is bulletproof Inter racial marriage should be punished by putting both partners to death There is no such thing as homosexuality, just the choice to sin.

One of the reasons I was so easily conned in to joining the LDS was because they claimed my life long allergy to tea and coffee was an obvious sign from God that I should join "the one true church". I was such a mug when I was 14
I think it's time to clean my refrigerator. Something just closed the door from the inside.

One more for the night, let's see if I can get right: the "Charlie Noble'.
LenHazell53 comments on Jul 26, 2018:
On any ship after 1850 this was the tradition named after the notoriously pernickety Merchant navy Captain Charles Noble who insisted that even the red hot copper smoke stack of his vessel be polished to a shine daily.
Here's another nautical trivia.

the storage of cannon ball, was never on deck it was in the area of the hold known as the gun deck or gun wark, it was made of wood not brass and was called the 'shot garlands'. The phrase seems have actually been derived from the expression "Hot enough to melt the nose h'off a brass monkey" Herman Melville's Omoo, 1847 and simply reversed. The Brass Monkey itself is an English civil war term for a small portable field (not naval) cannon known as a Brasse Munkey or a Drake (presumably after Sir Francis) that was wheeled about on an early version of ball bearings. Munkey or more likely Moncky was probably the inventor.
The hidden meaning.

You are quite right in your analysis of the BOOK of the Wizard of Oz, for instance if you lay the flag of Oz over a map of the united states the star of the Emerald city lays directly over Kansas. However the film is a very different matter.
