i'm curious...WHY are they drawing the pentacle...UPSIDEDOWN?
LenHazell53 replies on Mar 15, 2019:
It was a silly myth put about by the Hermetic order of the golden dawn in the late 19th century that an inverted pentacle ceases to be the sign of the sacred feminine and instead becomes the emblem of the Goat of Mendes or the Sigil of Baphomet. It is bollocks if for no other reason than the portrait of Baphomet drawn by archmage Eliphas Levi in 1854 that is even today taken as the symbol of the church of Satan has the Pentagram (not pentacle) on it's forehead the other way up.

LenHazell53 replies on Mar 15, 2019:
"transcendent" has no actual religious meaning at all, it is one of those words hijacked by the church and claimed for their own, to be transcendent is just to have climbed over or surmounted, past participle of the verb to transcend, which no one associates with religion at all.

LenHazell53 replies on Mar 14, 2019:
@Cutiebeauty I understand that, it just seems to me that people who do crop faces out of picture are not interested in people, only in "usable" genitals or don't want others seeing how uncomfortable the model is in being asked or persuaded to pose nude. Reducing people to commodities is the ultimate in disrespect. The other alternative is that they are showing off a picture of someone without their permission, another despicable act.

@48thRonin You DO have the right not to be in a car wreck, that is why we have book loads of laws and regulations relating to automobile safety and operator competence. You don't just have the right to buy and operate a car, you have to be tested first, trained and qualified. If you cause a car wreck, the first thing that is checked is do you have the competence to drive a car? Have you passed a test, are you intoxicated, were you being negligent, are you insured the list goes on and on. You will then be investigated and prosecuted and possibly be prevented from ever driving again. As far as false equivalencies go this one is a real pearl. The BIG difference however, is that a car's primary intent and raison d'etre is to transport people safely, it is not to kill things! Carry on you are getting funnier by the post.

@Antifred the only web sites that back that sort of dating up are creationist and completely neglect the fact that the measurement of the ancient Babylonian year, the Israelite year and the Julian calendar were all shorter than the modern Gregorian year, hence Abraham being claimed to be 175 years old at his death. All three of the artifacts including the Elam tablets make no mention of Abraham, but date him by relating him to lists of kings, none of which can be directly linked to Abraham but are based on counting back from Moses who it is claimed lived 1440 years after Abraham. Problem being of course Moses never existed, there is no independent record of him or the exodus in the huge library of Egyptian history uncovered in the last two centuries with the aid of Champolians research and the Rosetta stone and his biblical legend is a retelling of the Birth of Horus who did not exist either. Zarathustra was not the first prophet of Zoroastrianism, he is just the greatest, claiming the religion can be dated from him is like dating Judaism from the Birth of Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel .

LenHazell53 replies on Mar 7, 2019:
No that is Liberty Belle, a golden age and war time super heroine. Libby Lawrence, radio war correspondent, olympic athlete and the possessor of a shard of the actual liberty belle passed down to her from her ancestor the civil war heroine Miss Liberty. At times of great danger the shard makes the liberty Bell in Philadelphia vibrate encouraging it's custodian to strike it once, in order to send a powerful surge of adrenaline to the possessor of the shard giving her a boost of super strength and agility until the bell stops ringing. She featured in Star Spangled comics along with several other patriot themed heroes to encourage the forces. Her fellows included The Star Spangled Kid, Spy Smasher, Union Jack and of course the original version of Captain America.

If you have answered a post and the poster then blocks you of course you lose access to your response and likewise if they have answered one of your posts they lose access to to that too. China is the only country to impose an outright ban on all forms of fluoridation of drinking water to the best of my knowledge. It can only be concluded that some one somewhere is making a shit load of money out of this.

WonderWartHog99 comments on Feb 28, 2019:
Largely replaced with the easier to spell factoid, meaning an unverified fact.
LenHazell53 replies on Feb 28, 2019:
Not really, a factoid is a version of "the big lie" theory that if something is reported as true often enough people will come to believe it. Verisimilitude is more along the line of the suspension of disbelief, such as accepting that the setting of a story is true even if the events and characters are not or placing a real person in a fictitious situation. The maxim "all legend has a basis in truth, for example Troy can be historically stated to have existed, but we have no idea were it was" is an example of verisimilitude where as saying "Moses was a real person everyone knows that to be true even though there is no historical evidence for his existence or of his deeds" is a factoid.

LenHazell53 replies on Feb 27, 2019:
@SadekAmine True by a penile penetrative definition of rape, but not all rapes by men are against women at least as many are against other men, they just don't get reported nearly so often because of the stigma many men feel when violated. However if you count none penile sexual assault as rape, then women can and do rape both men and women in the moral if not legal sense of the word.

@johnprytz You raise an interesting point and one that has not gone unnoticed in the past. Christopher Marlowe the Elizabethan poet and play write, drew attention (at a great cost) to himself by pointing out that twice in the bible Lazarus whose sisters were Martha and the Magdalene is referred to as he who Jesus loved, the same title the author of the the Gospel of John uses for himself within the text. Some take this to mean the apostle John was Lazarus and that either A) he was never raised from the dead it was a con trick, or B) There never was a Lazarus and it was Mary dressed up in what was a dress rehearsal for Jesus own "resurrection" to see if people would fall for it. or C) as Marlow suggested and so got himself sent before the Starr Chamber, Jesus and John / Lazarus were lovers and it is a metaphoric story about their Sexual rebirth as lovers. In the Gnostic gospel of Mary Lazarus is mentioned as a bit of a weirdo who used to dress only in a white sheet, and often slept at the foot of Jesus' bed so garbed. One then has to ask was the young man dressed only in a linen sheet in Mark 14:51-53 who flees the scene of Jesus arrest by casting off his sheet and running away naked was Lazarus/John, again spending the night in Gethsemane at his "master" 's feet.
