Hey heathens! 😊 I got a question 😉 - Did you or do you have a Nickname?
LenHazell53 comments on Jan 21, 2021:
I have had through out my life many nicknames, many commenting on my physical build and featured (Springs for example because I have very curly hair, and others from school some rather unspeakable, racist and cruel.) I call myself Len because as my name sake in the "The Big Bang Theory" says Leonard has "Nerd" in it and my late best friend always called me Lennie (the only person I ever allowed to do so). My older son (formerly my daughter) calls me Grumpy because she says I look like the guy who plays Grumpy in "once upon a time" and my daughter in law calls me Papa Smurf, because my beard was far much more luxuriant when I first met her.
Nothing to add.

Why Do the Brits Call the U.K. ‘Blighty’? | Anglophenia | BBC America
LenHazell53 comments on Jan 20, 2021:
Well not the explanation I was given from my Great, Great, Aunt who lived through the Victorian age and the first world war. (She died in her 90's in the late 1970's) Her explanation was Blighty came from a mix of the word Blithe meaning happy or joyous and the then common girls name Blythe which is also the name of a river in Warwickshire and at least three towns in the UK all meaning beautiful and tranquil. (There are also towns with this name in Austrailia, the USA, south Africa and New Zealand) Cockney soldiers apparently mispronounced Bithe/Blythe as Blyt-he and the the beautiful idealised homeland became Blyt-he Brighty (over pronouncing the T) The truth probably lays somewhere between.

LenHazell53 comments on Jan 17, 2021:
From an essay I wrote some years ago Both Professor Stuart Hall in 1979 and in 2004 by Dr. Laurence Britt wrote articles defining the major points in identifying extreme nationalism and or fascism, just as a thought experiment I took their criteria adapted and applied it to religion 1. An easily identifiable symbol to rally too. 2. Specific terms/ code words or euphemisms exclusive to the group. 3. Powerful and continuing expressions of belonging to a chosen or special race. 4. Praising of a Mythological golden age of your ideology that give rights of rule by dynastic or spiritual heritage to all members and especially to leaders 5. Being included in and party to sacred mysticism denied to less worthy others 6. Physical Body Worship combined with reminders of spiritual unworthiness 7. Disdain for the importance of human rights especially those of outsiders 8. Suppression of the rights of the individual in favour of the group and the greater good 9. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause 10. The supremacy of the physical and or spiritual power broker 11. Institutionalised sexism 12. A controlled mass media 13. Obsession with internal security and or secrecy 14. Religion and ruling elite tied together 15. Power of corporations protected 16. Power of labour suppressed or eliminated 17. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts 18. Obsession with crime and punishment 19. Rampant cronyism and corruption 20. A pretence at democracy including Fraudulent elections or sustaining of the leadership

Faces of depression.
LenHazell53 comments on Jan 15, 2021:
There is a big difference between simply being depressed and suffering manic depression, these days more often diagnosed as bi-polar disorder. I am old enough to have been diagnosed with both titles. The most terrible part of bi-polar is that when you go so low, you know just how far you have fallen from the false joys of a manic high.

Yeah I wrote a comic song lyric based on that joke featuring George W. Bush for a show in 2003 The Battered Him of the Republican (sung to the tune of John Brown’s Body) George Bush woke one night to find He’d gone to hell Dropped in to an endless pit Down the fiery shaft he fell When he thought he’d fall no more He caught the brimstone smell And the flames burned up all around (Chorus) (spoken)And George sang Sorry, sorry not for me sir This aint where I want to be sir You go and set me free sir An I’ll not sin a again Then up popped the devil said “Welcome home m’dear These days we’re fit to bust, There’s so much sin and fear So I’ll make a deal with you To save your burning rear From the red hot poker I have here” (spoken)And George sang Piles of fire are not for me sir That aint where I want to be sir You go and set me free sir An’ I’ll not sin a again “I have three sinners” laughed The Devil with a smile “They’ve been here in hell For quite a little while, You can take the place of one In suffering and trial And one of them can go free.” (spoken)And George sang Sorry, sorry not for me sir This aint where I want to be sir Wont you ever set me free sir An’ I’ll not sin a again In a first room there was Reagan Strapped down in his movie seat Forced to watch his old films On an infinite repeat His eyes were red, his spirit broke The picture of defeat As Bonzo played again (spoken)And George sang “That Hagan girl” is not for me sir Not the films I want to see, sir Please, please Let me free sir An’ I’ll not sin a again In the next room he found Nixon Winding up a giant spool Of all the things he’d ever taped Well he looked such a fool When the tape unwound itself again Every time, so cruel Trickie Dicky had to start again (spoken)And George sang Sorry, sorry not for me sir This aint where I want to be sir You go and set me free sir An’ I’ll not sin a again Then they came to Clinton Locked up with his young intern She kissed all of every part of him Each one in it’s own turn And never did the president Her advances spurn When she started all over again (spoken)And George said Glory, glory that’s for me sir There’s nothing else I want to see sir This is where I want to be sir The Devil said to ***Monica off go.***

Phages are microscopic animals, that survive by feeding on ... wait for it... pathogens! In the USSR they were used as natural antibiotics because quite rightly medical people in the USSR understood a disease cannot mutate itself to be immune from being eaten. Phages are cheap and can be grown naturally in a bowl of water.
