No it really isn't, in spite of the Bible being highly influential almost all of it is none original and comes from the mythology of earlier more advanced cultures.

It is basically the same as saying "Stairway to heaven" is the most influential rock song ever, despite the fact that it is a total rip off of "Taurus by spirit"
Lead Zeplin were Spirits opening act on tour for years and had to settle out of court with Randy California's estate.
Often the copy is more famous than the original.

Vargas did not want to do it, but was persuaded by his niece who was a huge Cars fan.
It had been 20 years since Vargas last commision and he was 87 at the time (1978 ), this is probably his most famous piece and the original sold for over $100k a few years later.

I had a friend who actually helped two missionaries get home from the UK, by pretending to take the lessons he helped them get replacement passports, gave them air fare and drove them to the airport, then went and informed the mission president they had gone.
He threatened my friend and his wife with kidnapping charges, he being lawyer told the MP he had a much stronger case against him for illegal imprisonment if he tried.
These guys who run the mission centres are a freaking nightmare, mad with power and as they see it god given authority to threaten, bully and verbally abuse guys and girls who are little more than children.

I had a friend who actually helped two missionaries get home from the UK, by pretending to take the lessons he helped them get replacement passports, gave them air fare and drove them to the airport, then went and informed the mission president they had gone.
He threatened my friend and his wife with kidnapping charges, he being lawyer told the MP he had a much stronger case against him for illegal imprisonment if he tried.
These guys who run the mission centres are a freaking nightmare, mad with power and as they see it god given authority to threaten, bully and verbally abuse guys and girls who are little more than children.

@Marionville I watched the series from beginning to end, and what most people took to be grumpiness I always saw as well justified exasperation with the sheer idiocy of those around him or other peoples expectation that Victor should put up with shoddy work and slipshod service when he is paying for it.
However on a number of occasions victor saves peoples lives, or well being, gives freely of his time to help and spent his entire working life protecting people and property, and as is revealed in the classic one on one episode between he and his wife has had a life touched by tragedy that has utterly traumatised his wife and left him her secret carer.
The series is exceptional for it's writing and performances, but is comparable to "Till death us do part" in reverse, Alf was a mockery who was taken seriously, Victor is a serious character taken to be a mockery.

@FrayedBear I was not clear, I was merely pointing out that Eisenhower rode his war time achievements to peace time political power, which is essentially what Churchill's gambit was in seeking reelection.
Eisenhower was certainly not a great President but he was an adequate one, mainly remembered today for turning money in to a tool for Christian proselyting .
Churchill as a peace time leader I fear, would have had neither the tact or diplomacy needed and would have been more akin to Patton than Eisenhower.

Well good old Winston did ‘ invent’ the concentation camp in the Boer War didn’t he. His performance at Gallipoli was nothing to write home about . Not to say he wasn’t a ruthless leader during WW2.
His post war election campaign was , I believe , ‘let’s finish the job ‘..... not too ...

@FrayedBear Very True, but it was him and given that Chamberlain was the epitome of UK politics at the time it is possible that in the absence of Churchill the "charismatic strong leader" demanded to lead Britain in its darkest hour might well have been Oswald Mosley who was still a highly popular figure in the late 1930s, and I dread to think how that might have turned out.

@ADKSparky If one man woman or child died for the stated reasons of the Nazi, the horror and tragedy would be no less, the murders of Jews, Homosexuals, gypsies, Jehovah's witness and other hate focuses where an unspeakable crime but the ideology that motivated that crime was so monstrous there is no adequate word in language to express the level of inhumanity it was an expression of.
