It happens the other way around too, the multicultural cast of "Attack on Titan" in the Manga and the Anime were all cast with Japanese actors in the live action movies, it did not suffer for it. I am actually a fan of many live action adaptations, I even have some love for the American remake of Deathnote ( Willem Dafoe as Ryuk is sheer genius and forgives a multitude of sins in my book.)

What’s everyone favorite anime?
LenHazell53 comments on Dec 14, 2020:
Deathnote, without a doubt, not the best anime but my favourite so far, unsurpassed in story telling, characters and design.
Hey guys, I've been watching this anime called Psycho-Pass and I must say it's mind blowing.
LenHazell53 comments on Dec 14, 2020:
Yes Psycho pass is powerful and disturbing, the idea that sanity can be defined arbitrarily and deviant elements "removed" for the "greater good" is a nightmare concept worthy of Philip K Dicks.

NABALITIC.
LenHazell53 comments on Dec 14, 2020:
Nabal actually is the Hebrew word for fool. In the story Nabal refuses to due pay taxes to King David, because he considers himself to wealthy and important to be subject to the same laws as everyone else. (Sounds familiar). The wife of the fool is named Abigail (Hebrew for "A father's Joy.") she pays the taxes to David herself and apologizes, so David agrees not to kill her husband for tax evasion and insulting the king. God however is righteously pissed and strikes Nabal down with paralysis and a few days in agony later kills him and orders David to Marry Abigail and so inherit all Nabal's wealth and property, on which he as King no longer need pay any tax. The Story is reminiscent of that of Ananias who lied about his wealth so as to avoid tithing to the early Christian church and was struck down dead by god for tax evasion. Useful little religious parables for priest to extort money from idiots.

Nurdle is a VERY old Cornish word, first popularised in the 1950's by "Rambling Sid Rumpole" a character played on radio by Keneth Williams. The word was also made in to part of his catch phrase by Michael Bentine in his TV comedy programme "It's a Square World" in the 1960's and later in "Potty Time" in the 1970s, where when frustrated with some one he would exclaim "You Nikki nine Noddling Nurdle!" It is another word for yokel, or village idiot and can also mean to play cricket over cautiously.

From the point of view of a religious hierarchy the benefits of "owning" a religion are obvious Wealth A willing unpaid workforce Being worshiped or at least being give undue respect Vainglorious self importance. There are few or no actual benefits to "belonging" to a religion, and those that may be mistakenly thought to be so are at best comforting delusion and at worst crimes requiring your participation as a willing victim.

Sex and religion. What should an ideal religion say about sex?
LenHazell53 comments on Nov 29, 2020:
Religion has always either had sex at the heart of it, either as a taboo, or as a central precept. Fertility cults and hedonist cults sell sex, traditional monotheist religions tend to demonize sex in order to subjugate women as being tempters and the cause of all trouble, something to be controlled as inherently evil.

LenHazell53 comments on Nov 29, 2020:
I don't think it really sets a precedent, for example it might be argued that Dawn of the dead is more action based than Night of the living dead, but not that Halloween 2 is more action based than Halloween. Your thesis is probably more applicable to science fiction/horror than to horror generally, that said of course in some cases, vampires for instance the whole genre has moved more toward Sci-fi/ horror anyway with films such as Ultraviolet , Priest and Day breakers.
