White Privilege exists in white majority countries and is the mythical "right" by which Caucasians think they are at the peak of the evolutionary tree and so have the "right" to decide how the world should be run. White Blessing is the bullshit term used by church men to prove Jesus was Caucasian, as were Adam and Moses, because god would only ever discolour the skin of "other " people to show he was pissed off with them, and prove white is right and white is best, so long as you are not gay!

It has been argued by some philosophers, notably Jean Baudrillard, that America, uniquely, as a society defines itself by *what it is not * He for instance argues that the USA won the Vietnam war, that in superficially losing and with drawing all of the original aims of the war were actually achieved. Vietnam did not fall to bolshevism and actually out of necessity became more capitalist than it was previously, becoming a functional socialist democracy of sorts and a trading partner. The Russians were hegenomicly appeased and far right Republican ideals became firmly entrenched in the US political system as essential to well being. It is no accident that Disneyland opened in the same years as the beginnings of the Vietnam war, Disneyland was necessary to show the US what the country was not, place to provide an inspiration to an unattainable but desirable ideal, where as Vietnam was the flip side of the coin, a place demonised as everything to be feared if the people became to happy, too weak, too Disneyfied. Disneyland exist to warn against what the USA MUST never become, while Ho Chi Min's Vietnam existed to warn against what the USA SHOULD never become. Like wise the defeat of the south in the civil war was not a rout but was shown as a necessary defeat to warn against secession from the Union. Battle flags, attitudes, southern pride were all *allowed* to continue, poverty and ignorance encouraged to warn "there but for the grace of Lincoln go we" ie. America is not the South. However in time this policy has backfired as the gun toting, tobacy chewin' and science denying attiude of the worst of the southern states has proven to be very attractive to the church, commerce and political ideology to the point where "red neck and proud" is practically a battle cry. Liberal and democracy have become dirty words that have acquired new and undue meanings completely divorced for their actual definitions and America has adopt another stereotype to know they are not, "As Americans we are NOT, liberal, queer lovin', black tolerating, atheist New York city and Californicating pussy types. We are good ol' boys, 'cos the south is rising again!"
