Puffin became popular in Catholic countries as a dish after the Pope declared (seriously) that Puffin was **a fish** and so could be eaten on a Friday. Over the following years the fish hating clergy declared many other animals including Beavers, Hares, Manatees and Rabbits to be fish as well.

The success of the Shang-Chi film or TV series will be reliant on whether or not Marvel have regained the rights to Fu-Manchu (Shang-Chi's father) when Marvel, lost the rights to the character in the 1970s the comics stories meandered to an eventual stop as their main redemption arch was lost. How ever the Legend of the Ten rings was originally an Iron Man story so we may see a return of the Mandarin done properly this time.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, though it took it's title from a short book by Ian Flemming about an actual British racing car of the 1910s and 20s it actually a totally original story by Roald Dahl, who at the time was working for Cubbie Broccoli as a script doctor for the Bond movies and was told to "Do something with this shit". (The whole story of the book is covered in the title sequence of the film) Broccoli had bought the rights to all of Flemming's works up to that point a few years before on the condition that they all would be filmed, and so found himself lumbered with the children's book about a race car which was contractually obligated to turn in to a full length feature. It was not in fact Dahl's first piece of writing for children he had published Charlie and the chocolate factory 4 years before, but as he admitted in later lifehe had sneaked so much subversive content in to CATCF CCBB was an exorcise in "just how much can I get away with, and not get caught." He admitted the frame story is about drug culture Toot Sweets are hallucinogenics, Potts takes his name from marijuana slang (though there is an historical figure called Caractacus) Grandpa pots does go in to his shed to get stoned, hence his claims to be "Off to Africa". The magic car that takes them all on wonderful "trips" some times really "high" A woman called Truly Scrumptious, who once married to the lead would become Truly Potts was another reference to "the munchies" Suffered by those coming down from a high. Many of the drug reference were so obvious they were rewritten and used as self parodies in various "Family guy" episodes most notably Me Ol bamboo reemerging as "A Bag O'Weed" in season 7 episode 12 "420" The Child Catcher and the land of Vulgaria where children are illegal were threats Dahl used on his own children to make them behave brought to life and this is before you get in to child abduction, sadism, Paedophilia, torture, wife murder and utterly rampant racism born of the post war mentality.

This is not news. Anyone familiar with operation paper clip knows that the cream of Nazi scientists were divided up between the USA and USSR as spoils of war. The makers of the V1 and V2 rockets, the fathers of the atomic bomb and those who would contribute to the design and building of stealth jet fighters and bombers were all former Nazis. Like wise those sociologists and political scientists behind the founding of the EEC/Common market were also former Nazis, seen as less important they were left in Europe for the use of the French, British and Dutch. The whole situation was parodied in Leonard Wibberley's novel "Mouse on the Moon" with "rocket scientists" being traded and defecting back and forth between the Americans, Russians and British, with "Germans" commanding a higher price than any other type. The morally contentious matter, especially those concerning medical science, of separating the the discoveries from the discoverer and their politics has dogged the ethics of the academic mind for generations. However unlike in medicine and the arts cold hard economics and pragmatics have held sway in the post war Capitalist economies when it came to matters of Physics and warfare. We had one of these too, Judge James Pickles (1925-2010), a man who when giving a lenient sentence to a rapist described him as a "Decent chap" who had not raped anyone else for two years and sentenced the molester of a six year old girl to a period of probation because his decent family would keep an eye on him, and sent a ten month old baby to prison with it's mother so the child would not be a burden on the state. He went to work for the semi pornographic "news" paper the Daily Sport after being asked to retire, passing hypothetical and usually ludicrous sentences on cases of the day.

[news.yahoo.com] Who agrees with Trump?
LenHazell53 comments on Jul 16, 2019:
The You Tube commentator Sargon of Akkad released a video a few days ago in a misguided attempt to draw attention to the fact that if you take Trumps tweet and deconstruct it word by word, sentence by sentence then it can be read as not racist, which is true. However there is more to a sentence than the words and letters that make it up. There is nuance, connotation, cultural reference and context. The use of the "phrase go back home" or "Go back where you came from" especially in such context is hugely racist, and has a long history in bigotry and prejudice that cannot be denied, not matter how harmless the phrase might be in other circumstance. I recall having a conversation with my father once about how he had been pushed past by a man in a queue, how the man had been insistent on being served first. However my father insisted on referring to the rude individual as a black man, an ignorant black B---ard and when I asked what his being black had to do with his rudeness my father very angry and snapped why could he not call the man black when he was? I asked him to think about if the role was reversed and the the same man had turned on my father and said "Oh excuse me you white man"? Again Dad said that was typical of a black b--ger being sarcastic, and when asked why he said he has no need to call me a white man it's obvious I'm white. Finally he stopped and thought about it and said well it was obvious he was black too, but he was very rude. I don't deny he was rude, all people of all races can be rude and are, the point was being rude AND black some how was worse, because of an assumed superiority by the white man and this required clarification. I dug a bit further and it seems anyone of colour and oddly Irish people needed this kind of clarification, but not other english speaking races who are primarily white. My father is only a few years older than Trump and this idea seems ingrained at an almost instinctive level in that generation, to them racism seems inherent. Most people make an effort to combat this, but some, though not KKK level racist, feel annoyed at being obliged to modify their thinking to the point of being furious and insulted that their "normal" thinking is somehow now offensive. It is *possible* Trump actual does not think he was being racist, however on the other hand I call Bull shit on this, he knows exactly what he is doing and saying and is relying on playing to the worst in people to secure the support of like minded people.

LenHazell53 comments on Jul 16, 2019:
This is a simple cynical political ploy. Grump knows he has no support anymore among anyone but the super rich and the ignorant poor, they are his only hope of retaining his presidency in 2020. This tweet was a direct appeal to the white, bigoted ignorant people who think the only place for a black person is on the end of a chain or a rope, the only place for an Hispanic is in the bathroom with their arm round the U bend of a toilet and the only place for a middle easterner is in the cross hairs of their gun sight. To these people none whites are not American, they are "other" and should aspire no further than the butlers pantry, to them Trumperdink is the second coming or Robert E Lee who will put the white people back where they belong and will as Mark 9:3 says make America "... shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them." The sheer depth and breath of the network that this beast of human was the public face of is terrifying, it will never be clear just how much leverage he has on the legal system charged with bringing him to justice. The mention of the Maxwell family in the article is chilling, for a time in the UK Maxwell (known colloquially in the UK as the bouncing Czech) was second only to Murdoch in media power. His supposed "death" and actual disappearance is still a matter of great controversy and the information he took with him is a matter of lamentation for his victims. Therefore Epstein's revelations if he choses to capitalize on them could cause repercussions globally, so much is now creeping toward the light of public scrutiny that only a matter of years ago would have been seen as the wildest of conspiracy theories that the fabric of society is about to be shaken from its roots to its highest branches. I see only two outcomes, a gross miscarriage of justice and another escape and exile for the monster, or his death, by convenient accident, assassination or suicide.

My late writing partner once described to me the dangers of revisionist history as a blight on the collective memory of the world. The fact that there are people who against all reason and evidence claim the holocaust never happed place themselves in the historical cannon, and as the events move in to evermore distant history, out of living memory then all that remain are the testimonies of the witnesses and historians among who will be the deniers seeding doubt for the remainder of time. For every thousand historians who tell th truth, there is and always will be one who says it was all a lie, diluting the facts. We all know Princess Diana died in he tunnel in Paris in 1997, but there are those who claim it was faked, she lived on elsewhere, in 100 years time reports from 1997 and 2017 won't seem that far apart, and some of those guys made a pretty good case and of course there is no proof she did not fake it.... etc, etc etc. Fake doubt is the cancer of history, and it must be a great comfort to the modern Fascist to think he is being unjustly blamed for a holocaust that never happened in the war years, propagate by people who just have it in for his ideology and want to silence his "truth".

Amen is often explained to mean so be it in Hebrew, it does not, there is a similar Hebrew word, with a guttural stress on both vowels sounding rather like Ach-mench which actually means Verily or Certainly. The word Amen actually predated Judaism and the Hebrew language by millenia, it is found in ancient Egyptian text, Babylonian and Sumerian, similar words are also found in Arabic, Aramaic, Hindi and Urdu, there are even similar words used for ending prayer in the mesoAmerican ancient tongues and Chinese. However there is a much repeated theory that Amen is the name of the Sun God Amun, this is not true as the god Amun's name is distinct in the written prayers to him ending in Amen, to claim other wise is to say in English that you can legitimately call Jesus the *Lard* and Saviour and say it's okay because Lords are made from blocks of Lard.

He is also a fine strategist planning his interviews and debates to be three steps ahead of his interlocutors by basically anticipating how he would destroy his own arguments if in their place, and then calculating facetious Ad hominem or mockeries to bring the audience on to his own side. His demolition of Cathy Newman on channel four news was a master piece of "forewarned is forearmed" knowing exactly her technique and having prepared counter measures.

It is not new, many activists have been pointing out for years the suspicious nature of FEMA camps standing unused but maintained for immediate activation, stockpiling of black plastic "coffin shaped" containers at these sites, the buying up of abandoned wal-mart facilities by the government and their conversion in to "administration" centres complete with fences and cages that look all to familiar. Underground networks of transportation tunnels not open to the public. Of course all of that was just the rantings of conspiracy theorists.

Is it correct that Nietzsche was Hitler's inspiration?
LenHazell53 comments on Jul 9, 2019:
NO not exactly. Hitler was an admirer of Nietzsche writings, but after the philosophers death, Nietzsche's money hungry sister who was on friendly terms with "Der Phooey" published and gifted to Hitler a series of writings of her brothers older writings (most later contradicted by actual published works) that Nietzsche had long since dismissed as the "rantings of youth" These works were Hitler's professed inspiration and passed off by Hitler as "new" writings by Nietzsche, the last thoughts of a genius, when they were no such thing, but rather inferior ideas rejected and dismissed decades before.

The whole of the Epstein horror show has been an open secret for years, it is very telling that the charges against him relate ONLY to his main land American homes, which is going to allow them to skip over the "Lolita Express" and his Private Caribbean Island nightmare factory. A lot of rich and famous people must be heaving a huge sigh of relief that none of the charges relate to the regular jaunts in that plane to that particular "Holiday" local.
Okay, so probability.

The purpose of a coin toss is to have one of two outcomes, the third "possible" outcome is irrelevant to the purposes of a coin toss and so is generally disregarded, under such circumstances. As a purely mathematical or statistical experiment then yes it should be counted.
This made my day!
