I am 65, and was a college educated pastor of 3 churches. I have been agnostic for 25 years. I am happily married to one woman for 44 years, and have 4 children, and 7 grand children. I found this group serendipitously, and I am glad for it. I love nature, and can marvel in that beauty.

Leutrelle comments on Oct 17, 2018:
This kind of dialog could weaken the Democrat party. There are many people in both parties who do not think that non documented people have the same rights as citizens have which include voting. With this mind set then logically it would follow that every nation on earth should have the right to vote in American elections. Obviously that is absurd, and any American citizen that supports our love for this country, and its freedom can surely see this as a violation of our rights as citizens.

Your thoughts on gun ownership?
Leutrelle comments on Jan 7, 2018:
I can see that I am a minority. First off to own an automatic fire arm you have to be vetted by the ATF which is a long process and costs at least 200$ for the stamp. Secondly before buying the stamp one must first buy the automatic fire arm which there is a VERY limited supply, and were made I believe pre-1984. The auto weapon is very expensive, about 10K to 25K and perhaps more, and the money has to be given to a gun store who has a license to sell that type of weapon and then holds the weapon while you start the process of obtaining the stamp from the ATF. I don't have that kind of money to throw around, so I don't have one, but I wish I did:). My son had the opportunity to shoot a military AR M16, and it sounded like it would be a fun target gun. I strongly agree with you that owners should be TRAINED, and CERTIFIED, and that they are qualified for ALL gun ownership! I only say this because many have never been around a gun, and they could be extremely dangerous in unqualified HANDS. I guess that is all I have for now.

Great post. Seldom does any one date man's age in the millions there is so little evidence, but there is some. I don't remember the age, but they did find a sea shell that had a human face carved that was dated quite old. Sticks would be the obvious first tool, but there are probably not many if any around. I quite like reading of discoveries of very ancient man. One of my favorites is of a dinosaur's foot prints fossilized right along side of a man's foot prints. Maybe the dinosaur was tracking the man?

Leutrelle comments on Jan 27, 2018:
I like a ham hock in my beans. They just wouldn't be the same. Its hard to get good fresh produce where I live. So I eat root vegetables, like yams, and carrots. Some times the broccoli, and asparagus is in decent shape, and I add that to my diet. Bacon is hard to resist, and I like eggs. I enjoy a good T bone and a New York Strip grilled on a wood fire about 3-4 times a year. Hamburger goes a long ways in my house. I have to watch my carbs, so noodles, and bread are out. I get by with a little help from friend -- Meat.

When did you first doubt religion?
Leutrelle comments on Jan 23, 2018:
In seminary when I discovered the Catholic church assembled the cannon. The list of books to be included in the Bible. I thought this really couldn't be the word of god. It was down hill from there, or should I say up hill as independently studied, and concluded that I was agnostic.
