@glennlab Your confusion is from a false premise.... If Texas is no longer receiving the raw materials due to trade being shut down they no longer have as much material to refine. Losing 50% of their raw material would result in a huge loss in revenue... Alaskan crude comes from a pipeline that ends at a transfer station on the Pacific coast and is 13% of domestic production.... Some of that is normally refined in Texas if I remember correctly but with Trump being the asshole he is we can be fairly certain that Panama would be happy to block that oil from traversing their canal.... It is highly likely that most of South America would join in said embargo... Besides it would be far more efficient and cost effective to have all that oil refined in California anyway...
