@PondartIncbendog A young woman delivered me Meals on Wheels the day after the 2016 election. She was so upset with the outcome that she could barely talk. I made her come in and sit down and I summoned every positive thing I could think if to say to calm her. I mean, we knew it would be bad but I think it surpassed all of our worst nightmares. Thankfully it is almost over. There just can't be that many messed up Americans. There just can't.

Beautiful picture. We just had a pair of cats adopted at Simply Cats, who are a normal cat and a blind one. The normal cat acts as a "seeing eye cat" for the blind one. So they had to go to the same home. I've never ceased to be amazed by what cats will learn.

It's completely different from knowing in advance that covid will be very serious for someone with a compromised immune system and preexisting respiratory conditions. And don't undermine this view as only my perspective because it applies to anyone who is particularly vulnerable to COVID. Just ask those 200,000+ dead Americans. There always have been and always will be limits on freedoms as they interfere with the freedoms of other members of the community. Membership in the community is a privilege, not a right.

@dumasarok It is plagiarism because you did not name the author. Cons care about their own with no attachment to or investment in the larger community. The last four years have threatened and continue to threaten our democracy, our global standing and our very quality of life. Conservatism was at one time a legitimate albeit morally bankrupt political ideology but Trump and his criminal syndicate put an end to that. Trump and anyone who supports him are responsible for 200,000+ COVID deaths. So much for your vote for the sanctity of life. You have done all the damage conscientious Americans are going to allow you to do.

@Omnedon The Lincoln Project wanting Trump out does not alter the fact that they are conservatives. One of the real problems in this country is the lack of political sophistication resulting in the inability to understand the big picture, which is very well illustrated by your comments. Political ideologies are consistent, comprehensive views of the world not just unrelated haphazard policies that bend to the wind. Perhaps a look at the party platforms would help you understand this, although the Republicans didn't even bother with one this cycle which is significant in and of itself.
