I have a profile on POF and OkCupid but I am going to delete them since I rarely log on and most of what I get is scammers or men who clearly did not read my profile before contacting me My schedule of getting up at 3am and in bed by 8pm makes having a life of any kind near impossible but I did join a few meet-ups. So far most events are outside my bedtime zone lol I've been single for about 7 years now and a part of me really likes the freedom but I must admit that a companion is missed from time to time. I often think that what I really need is friends rather than a significant other. I second the suggestion that you join meetup.
Is there anybody else who would like to 'chat'?

I'm with the "don't just let the dog out" crowd. No, you shouldn't have to go to the extra trouble but if there is a chance he will hurt the dog then you must. Here is an idea: repurpose an old phone or tablet as a recording device. You can stream it to a hard drive or the cloud. Or stay there recording in secret every time you let the dog out. Anyone that would abuse their own dog will not care about yours

My mother was convinced that an alien craft visited us when we lived in Melborne Florida in the late 60s. Still believes it for that matter. My father was a police officer at the time and when I asked him years later about it he did say that they were deluged with calls for UFOs that night. We lived a few miles from Patrick so I'm gonna go ahead and say they were testing stealth aircraft and my mother who was in her early 20s at the time was also into witchcraft and just liked the woo.

Do we ever truly get over childhood hurts?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Oct 17, 2018:
Yes and No. My mother shouldn't have kids and rarely hit us but we were neglected. Her second husband did abuse us with her knowledge. My father was absent for most of my childhood but meted out some harsh punishments that I can recall 50 years later I think I am over brooding about my childhood but I suspect it has also been a big factor in many of the more questionable decisions I have made in my life that seem inconsistent with the type of person most people perceive me to be

Can anyone recommend a good product to help with training a dog not to bark excessively?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Oct 14, 2018:
My dog barks at every little thing she sees outside so I made sure she can't get the curtains open to look out. She sleeps with one of the kids who have fans on and blackout curtains so that takes care of sound. Ive heard about sonic whistles but fear they may be cruel. With a previous dog, I had a better schedule so was able to take the time to sharply say "enough" each time she barked inappropriately. Perhaps a crate is in order at night.

Has anyone every given financial support for something on kickstarter?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Oct 14, 2018:
I think I have contributed to 3. One was a star trek museum in Nevada- not enough to get a physical perk but I love star trek Another was a disabled young man that wanted to go on a trip around the U.S. I was supposed to get a copy of video or a letter or something when he completed it but to be honest I think he likely has died. Again, I did not do it for a perk anyway. The most recent was for a reusable straw that is way over priced but is now in production. We shall see.
I started a new group that was denied.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Oct 14, 2018:
I have no interest in joining such a group but zorialoki has a point; most of the groups on here do not promote agnosticism either. However, when you use a free service, you get what you pay for; the provider makes the rules. You accept them or leave. Personally I think that some nasty shit slipped by the admin recently and he is trying to correct that oversight. Perhaps he is over correcting.
Members should not be allowed to write posts that simply link to something that is behind a paywall.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Oct 14, 2018:
Yeah, it's annoying to click on a potentially interesting link just to find a paywall but I cannot support banning links to them. Reminds me of net neutrality. It would be nice if the poster included the info that there is a paywall and perhaps those reading this will do that in future but just as I do in FB, if a page/poster keeps posting links that lead to a paywall or some other irritating feature, I simply stop clicking on their links I have never demanded that facebook forbid them from posting

Having to explain, most of my life, why being bi doesn't mean I cheat and why I post that I am ...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Oct 6, 2018:
I rarely tell anyone I am bi because both homosexuals and heteros kinda give me shit. The homos think I'm just bi curious or looking to "play" whereas the hetero males wanna talk about group sex and hetero females just back away, The truth is that I was in 2 long term relationships with women that lasted years each. One of them was 5 years with a joint bank account. I do think that the younger generation is a bit kinder but for my age group, being bi is a social life killer because neither side wants you
