How do people feel about people who are childless?
Lucy_Fehr comments on May 20, 2018:
I feel that they did what was best for them. Unless you are absolutely certain you want them, you shouldn't have them.
I reside in the furthest point of Kissimmee where it ends and Saint Cloud begins.

I'm watching my oldest grandson graduate high school tomorrow night. He already has an academic scholarship for college. I was kicked out of high school for being pregnant in 1979 and got my G.E.D. the following year. My daughter quit when she turned 18 in senior year. So did her brother They got G.E.D.s but still, I would have liked to see them do all that senior stuff.
Beware of talking much about ex's

Do you have a specific movie, TV show, or commercial you quote from on a regular basis?

I used to quote star trek a lot along with an occasional batman phrase- the series. I find myself increasingly using stuff from Game of Thrones though.

Why are you still on Facebook?
Lucy_Fehr comments on May 13, 2018:
Family mostly but I also use it as photo dump while traveling or geocaching. I save a lot of links for home repair/remodel or things I am saving for my granddaughter when she gets old enough to have one. My brother died many years ago leaving young children behind. His wife remarried and I lost contact. Eventually my niece found me through facebook. She was not the last long lost person to find me so I keep it. I don't air my dirty laundry on it but I also do not sugar coat my opinions either.
Every now and then I see a glimmer of hope.
Lucy_Fehr comments on May 13, 2018:
From 13 year olds? Wow! Hopeful indeed
I'm writing this here as this group is about relationships.
Lucy_Fehr comments on May 11, 2018:
If her last relationship messed her up so badly that she needed therapy, a few months is not enough time. I think it is too soon for HER. That doesn't mean you can't be something to her but I would suggest keeping it somewhat low key for a while. The rebound guy usually gets hurt

I am a financially deficient explorer. I will likely never make it overseas but since my daughter sells cruises for a living, I have been to the caribbean a couple of times and climbed several mayan ruins along with other places. I found some dna cousins and will be making an 8 hour drive to spend some time with one of them next month. Ive been thinking that perhaps I may take some online friends up on their offers of a place to stay and venture even further someday.

Lucy_Fehr comments on May 6, 2018:
My granddaughter loves science and math, wanted to play football but was forced to be a cheerleader instead. She cant sew for shit, cooking is of no interest so I think she will probably want to join if it is available here. Probably not since this is a backward hell hole but if it is available and she wants to join, I will happily drive her.

I've been spending less and less time on here for a couple of reasons and I find myself just scrolling along like I do on facebook. The growth of the site as made some topics posted much more repetitively than it used to and much of the new content being posted is just too inane for me. When it was new I checked it daily despite not making posts myself then left for a few months. Came back I think in Feb and so much has changed since then. I know most of you are wondering "who is this sherrymartin person?" but there are a few of you whose names I recognize and always open your posts but all too often I do not have the time or patience to find them in the sea of inanity

Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 29, 2018:
I work in an affluent area but most of our regulars are ancient. There are 4 old men waiting every morning for the doors to open and two or three of them sit on the bench outside all day. One of them is a perv that finds a reason to hug the females and get a handful of boob. We have the old ladies that stroll every aisle every day, cant see shit but drive to and from the store in cars. There are really only 2 regulars that make my day: a former state trooper that lost his leg while apprehending a suspect but has no bitterness and is funny as hell. And an older woman who used to comment on my lavender hair and commiserates with me on how ridiculous it is that I had to give it up. Those old men on the bench irritate me because they just sit there preventing people waiting for the bus to have a seat. I see people with canes leaning against a column or the wall while their asses just sit there all freaking day. And they always have shit to say to people. The other day, I was pushing my cart with only 2 bags in it because I was also eating from a sampler plate. I finished eating and threw the plate away in front of where they sit and grabbed my bags to walk out to the truck and one of those assholes said "why did you bring the cart if you are just gonna carry your bags?" and shook his head at me. Since I was in uniform, I had to be less nasty than I wanted to be, so gave him a look, waited a couple of seconds and said "because my hands were full until just now" what I wanted to say is "why do you sit in front of travel agency all day if you're not gonna take a vacation?" I better not be one of those people when Im elderly.

Are there good, safe hiking paths anywhere in Florida?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 23, 2018:
I geocache solo and walk a lot of trails alone. I do carry a walking stick however. Thieves and robbers generally do not hang out in the woods but it is possible you could run into some teenagers although I never have. What I do when Im considering a new area is to pull it up on google maps or earth and switch to satellite view. Often times these "wilderness" areas are within shouting distance of homes. If there is a lot of geocaches hidden within it, it is safe.

In fact a 38 year old tried to pick me up this past weekend. Hauled ass when I mentioned I had grandchildren. Pic taken last night- Im the one in the back.

In the past, men have "accidently" touched my ass and/or breasts, grab me by the arm or shoulder to keep me where they want me. make comments about how I must be in bed. And I am expected to not only tolerate it but actually fucking thank them for shopping there. Half the time, the store management is treating the female staff the same damn way.
Has anyone tried a home DNA kit?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 17, 2018:
My search started with an interesting story: my mother was given up for adoption in 1946 at the age of 9 months because her birth mother's husband came back from overseas and demanded she do so since he had been gone too long to be the father. Birth mother claimed father was an incarcerated native american. Since my mother had coal black hair and I have olive skin, it was believed. except we are 99.99% white. My mother was born in a town that has a population of under 1000 today. Much smaller then. The surname of the couple that adopted my mother was Cox. One of my DNA cousins had an uncle with last name of Cox. Same general area It is possible my mother was adopted by her own father. Who had black hair.

Lucy_Fehr comments on Apr 15, 2018:
Im up at 2 or 3am even on my days off so I spend until daybreak wasting time on facebook and now agnostic.com, then plan my geocaching route if I am caching that day. I geocache, hike or walk 4 miles on the beach and am usually home by 1pm. Sometimes do some yard work instead if Ive let it go too badly LOL Then get back online. Truly sad I know. About 3pm, I will start messaging my daughter to find out where she is and when she and kids are coming home cuz Im hungry and know she is gonna cook something. The progeny will be home around 4 or 5 so there is chat time for about an hour or so then usually watch an episode of Flash, Arrow, Black Lightening, Sheild, Legends or Supernatural with the grandkids. The occasional disaster movie that we make fun of while watching is also possible. Bedtime at 7 Glad you asked huh?
