Do we really value free speech anymore?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 30, 2018:
When did someone go to jail for hurting someone's feelings? I really need to see the citation for that.
What are your views on polygamy?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 30, 2018:
I have no issue with it
I recently hit level 6 and have noticed I can now now approve or disapprove people's comments on ...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 29, 2018:
Damn, I just hit level 5 and found out my posts go live immediately. Didn't even realize the previous posts didn't. I just like to share my notsohumbleopinions a lot lol
Anyone ever have a DNA ancestry test?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 29, 2018:
My mother was adopted but her birth mother was known and allegedly we are descended from gypsies. Stories differ as to her father was with the choices being a full blooded popogo native or a white man. My mother had straight, thick coal black hair so I always assumed the native. I was unhappy to hear about being gypsy for years and recently started researching and discovered that black hair is not uncommon. My father said we were Scottish and that his aunt had researched it back several hundred years but I was not old enough to care about it. He died when I was 30. Years later I was forced to admit that my father had lied about a lot of things (such as the babysitter being pregnant by him the same time my mother was pregnant with my brother) and now I question everything he told me. I should have my results back any day and if I'm lucky, my sibling will be there
What do you regret the most from your last relationship?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 29, 2018:
That I stayed in it for so long. I relocated to be with him and he kept me so busy with hauling his ass, his parents and his daughter around that I had no time to make friends. I stayed with him because I had no one else. When I look back on the kind of person I became, I am angry with myself.
What are your thoughts on the etiquette of paying for dates?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 28, 2018:
The person doing the inviting should pay. When someone says "let's do lunch" I see that as dutch but if I invite my friend to lunch then I pay.
How many of your friends know you are atheist or agnostic?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 28, 2018:
I am fairly certain that it is the reason why none of my life long friends have time for me anymore. As they get older, the more concerned they are with heaven and the more time they spend in church. I reckon they aint allowed to hang with me.
This is how I answer to the what religion are you question.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 28, 2018:
I say I'm a humanist. I suspect I don't have any issues because none of them know what it is. Many years ago when I worked in a different town, a member of management asked me if I practiced witchcraft because I went on vacation for Halloween every year. I responded with "you're not allowed to ask me that" Not my problem that he took that to mean yes. Damn did I have some fun with that for a few years.
Stereotypes, what is the most common misconception people have about you?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 28, 2018:
I have resting bitch face so people assume I am in a bad mood or angry quite often. What I have heard repeatedly over the years after people get to know me is that they thought I was one of those conservative judgmental prudish types. I've been told often that I intimidate people or that they are scared of me. Most of my supervisors fear me I'm told. Unapproachable is another word I've heard to describe me. I dyed my hair lavender and bought funky glasses in hopes I would look a little less intimidating since I work with the public and realize that a customer shouldn't be apologizing for interrupting me but the company objected to the hair so I am back to where I started. Unsure what I can do at this point since most of my appearance is dictated by my employer
Just got back from my first ever solo vacation.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 28, 2018:
I have gone on cruises with my daughter and we spent most of the trip apart and met for dinner or something but almost all my activities are solo for various reasons that looked lame in print so I deleted them LOL
Have any of you tried online dating?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 28, 2018:
I'm on a couple of them and it's so disappointing that I don't log on unless I get a notification or having a really slow day. It's a conservative redneck town I live in. I am also in my 50s so all the men want to do is drink, ride their Harley, fish, drink some more and "be a gentleman". Oh yea, golf. Most of the bio is full of misspellings and although I try not to judge, there is a spell checker but they are too lazy to use it. Then we have the aging surfer dude who demands fit and has a 7 year kid which means he wants a woman in her 30s I cannot forget the 70 somethings looking for a nurse with a purse. True I am chubby but I look like I am in my early 40s, have a income, my own home and truck, but I just do not attract non religious men in my age range. So I will remain single rather than settle.
Assuming you are out of school, does continuing to learn matter to you?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 28, 2018:
I didn't go to college until I was in my 40s but even today, if something interests me or makes me curious, I will research it until satisfied.
I used to give my spare change to the homeless who walked up to me and asked me for a dollar because...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 27, 2018:
I don't care what they do with the money. They're homeless and I'm not. I have been homeless in the sense that I lost my home after an illness and had to rent a room but I had a job because I had a vehicle and understand just how quickly I could be one of them. As a matter of fact, had I not had a retirement fund to cash out, I would have been homeless because I did not work for a while. I often wonder how many of the homeless became addicts after becoming homeless in order to numb themselves.
How many of you are still in touch with an ex, someone you had some sort of relationship with or ...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 27, 2018:

Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 27, 2018:
Nope. Quite the opposite in fact. BUT. There were some unusual life events that had a hand in it I have noticed that my formerly wiccan liberal mother became a xtian although I wouldn't call her all that conservative
What do you give instead of thoughts and prayers?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 27, 2018:
I make specific offers to help such as if you need a ride call me; if you need company, let me know; babysitting etc.
What would be your dream vacation? A place on bucket list that you dream of someday visiting?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 26, 2018:
There are so many places I want to see but I've wanted to visit Pompeii since I read about it as a child
What kind of snob are you?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 26, 2018:

Well so far my calculations with regards to number of points per day is correct plus or minus a few ...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 26, 2018:
I'm only averaging about 25 points per day
How often do you pay attention to your neighbors?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 26, 2018:
I get to know them a bit better every hurricane scare. I should try harder I think
I dislike living in a highly conservative area.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 26, 2018:
Definitely. I moved to Orlando for a while which was better than Fort Pierce regarding diversity due to so many Europeans living there but have never lived somewhere truly liberal/progressive
What's your preferred dwelling type?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 25, 2018:
I spent some time homeless as a child so a house represents security to me and only CBS will do since the few bright spots in my childhood were spent in a typical CBS Florida home circa 60's. My house was built in 80 but has that older style vibe. I love those tiny homes but with a daughter and grandkids living here, I will be too old to sleep in a loft by the time they are gone LOL If money were no object, I would have some weird ass unique monstrosity
Do you ever get irritated at having to "dumb it down" for people when you're out in public?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 25, 2018:
I used to do in relationships and still do it at work all too often. After a few blank looks when I speak properly, I just slip into the redneck slang I grew up around, They all think I'm weird and slightly afraid of me any way since I use the name Lucy at work and laugh when people call me lucifer
What commercials have permanently burned themselves into your mind?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 24, 2018:
My dog's better than your dog My dog's better than yours My dog's better cuz he eats kennel ration My dog's better than yours. The meow mix commercial that was nothing but meow about 50 times https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFRvqqORC98
So as non believers what do you think of all the crosses you see people wearing as if to ward off ...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 22, 2018:
I think it's a piece of jewelry for many of them. My aunt had given me a beautiful carved turquoise cross because I was into turquoise at the time and I wore it despite my non belief. Which makes me a bit of hypocrite because I had joined a dating site and rejected anyone that was wearing a cross in their pics. Damn. Food for thought.
After a break up or death of a spouse... Why do women seek out old flames
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 22, 2018:
I have no idea as I am not a going back to the ex kind of person I eventually became friends of sorts with my ex's but not until a lot of time had passed
So, it's tax time again.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 22, 2018:
The idea of the welfare queen has been debunked. Even if they are gaming the system, they are not living in mansions living the high life. I have absolutely no problem with poorer than me people getting help.
Are you more open and honest online than in person?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 22, 2018:
I was a computer user @2400 baud and ran my own small BBS so I knew early on how little privacy there is in a private conversation. I am sometimes too open in person whereas I'm a bit reticent online unless it is someone I know fairly well. On rare occasions, something will strike a nerve and I will overshare LOL
Does ' pro-lifer' always identify a religious person?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 22, 2018:
When I was much younger I was pro-life and atheist. Actually I was more conservative about a lot of things because I was a young mother and less educated.
Just curious as to what everyone's most embarrassing moments have been?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 22, 2018:

Red state or blue state?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 19, 2018:
I live in Florida in a county that voted Obama in twice and yet Trump won. But there is a beach that we can swim in when the bacteria levels are low enough.
How long has everyone been single. For me it's been over 2 years.

Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 18, 2018:

What's your vacation destinations this year?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 16, 2018:
I geocache so there will be a number of weekend events I will attend but all within Florida. Will probably visit parents in rural Alabama. My daughter is a travel agent that sells cruises and we usually go every 6 months but am skipping this year so that we can take a 10 day cruise in 2019. My first cruise ever was slightly over a year ago and I climbed Altun Ha, Chacchoben, and Tulum which is something I always wanted to do but figured I would never see.
Did you have a favorite toy when you were young?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 16, 2018:
I had this plastic doll with several outfits. One of them was a red raincoat and hat with yellow boots. Other than a bike, I don't recall any other toys except for the ubiquitous barbie that every girl had because their mothers were resentful that they hadn't been invented earlier. My mother played with those barbies more than I did and made an unholy amount of clothing for them
Where were you first employed?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 16, 2018:
Grading fruit at a packing house when I was 15.
First Love - Did you have one?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 15, 2018:
Yup and he was a piece of shit. Still is. Racist and told our daughter he would kill her kids if he could get away with it because they are half black. Of course we had been divorced many many years before this happened but I do not care how horrible of a person it makes me, I will celebrate his death when it finally comes. My first girlfriend fucked me up a bit too LOL
SNOW! Anybody else like having all 4 seasons?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 15, 2018:

Do you have a favorite board game?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 14, 2018:
I like trivia although I have recently discovered that I am not as good at it as I used to be. Probably social media is to blame for that.
Cryptocurrency?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 14, 2018:
There was a conversation here about ether but now I can't find it. I'm kinda new to the site but doubt I could delete others comments even inadvertently
If you stick "rev." in front of your name then you can get away with murder
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 14, 2018:
LOL. Reminds me of a conversation with my father back in the early 80's where he laid out how he was gonna turn his house into a church to avoid paying taxes. Daddy was a stoner but doesn't mean he was wrong LOL
How do you spread the good word of being an anti theist or atheist?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 14, 2018:
The trailer hitch on my truck shows the darwin fish atop the xtian one but I do not think most people notice it. I used to have bumper stickers but the truck got vandalized a lot. They left notes so I know it was the criminals for christ. I have been fortunate that most people I know despite being believers, do not seem to care although I do wait til they know me better before disclosing it. I understand that there is a need for all kinds of ambassadors and when I was younger I was much more militant about my non belief but now I choose the carrot approach because I do not want to contribute to the belief that we are angry at god
Good morning

I need light shed on the interactions of white and black people.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 14, 2018:
I'm a little late to this discussion but I want to comment about your parents. Their behavior towards you was/is wrong. Those comments were cruel. I have mixed race grandchildren with my grandson being large and dark while his sister is much lighter and petite. They are only 13 and 11 respectively but my grandson seems to be the only one having issues from society. One of my now former white friends asked me why my daughter "gravitated" toward black people and I told her that when black people see the kids they see black. When white people see the kids, they see black. For the most part the black community has been very accepting of the kids whereas the white community has not. There have been some issues with the kids being accused of thinking they were better but they have become chameleons and so far can fit in but I worry about when my grandson is older. I am sorry for how rough you have had it but am grateful you shared your story so that I can be more cognizant of the difficulties they may face as they grow up.
What do people think about where they live?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 13, 2018:
I live on the east coast of Florida in a town called Fort Pierce The weather is nice.
If there was a kind loving god we wouldn't have evil brussels sprouts
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 9, 2018:
Roasted brussels sprouts are da bomb although I like them most other ways as well.
Do you think that Oprah could defeat the nazi buffoon in 2020?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 8, 2018:
No I don't think she could beat him. The first female republican will be a female. Most white women voted for trump because they felt it was in the best interest of their husbands so they are extremely unlikely to vote for a dem female for similar reasons. They may however vote differently from their husbands if the female candidate was a republican. Sadly, most of America thinks Drs Phil and Oz are great so her woo woo shit wouldn't be an impediment.
Who cried when the present occupant in the White House was elected?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I go to bed early but wake up around midnight and I swear I thought his speech was Alec Baldwin doing his thing so went back to sleep. I was horrified when I got up at 3am and found out it was true. btw, hi from Fort Pierce
Cemeteries, creepy, or peaceful?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I geocache as a hobby and while visiting Alabama, I found quite a large number of them hidden in or near old cemeteries which are interesting. I even visited one on Grand Cayman which was right next to the beach
Is anyone else on here part of the LGBT community?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I've been in LTR's with both genders and dated someone trans gendered briefly about 25 years ago. I guess I have the much maligned bi label LOL
Why do so many people fear No. 13?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I had a miscarriage when I was very young and although I could get pregnant, I could not remain so. My youngest child was born 2 months early on Friday the 13th and despite a rough couple of years is now a disgustingly healthy 27 years old. Oh and I bought a house once with a credit score of 666
If God is real, he should ask mankind for forgiveness.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I think something to that effect is written on a wall in a concentration camp
What is your moral compass?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 4, 2018:
Some things are no brainers but in general I ask myself 3 questions before doing something questionable. Particularly if my feelings are engaged. Will it cause any harm? Is it self serving? Will it be beneficial? If either of the first two are a yes then the last is a "probably not" and needs further reflection.
HI! I'm here to hopefully meet someone with similar interests.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I'm new myself but I suspect the bashing will settle down among long time users.
If you found yourself standing on Judgement day, what would you have to say to God?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 2, 2018:

Anybody else love churches?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 2, 2018:
I have no problem seeing the beauty in things that just happen to have religious connections.
I have realized, in adulthood, that I question the same teachings and bible versus that I questioned...
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 2, 2018:
My real father was a musician so I was exposed to a different lifestyle than most as a very young child. Alas my mother remarried to the opposite kind of person. As a 9-10 year old in southern Indiana aka cesspool of ignorance, I questioned several of the stories but I fixated on the ark myth. My questions were met with anger and I got the shit beaten out of me when my step father was told so I learned to not ask questions of people. Over the course of their marriage, I was forced to read the entire bible and my disbelief was complete LOL
How cold is your house?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 1, 2018:
I keep my thermostat on 74 for sleeping and on 78 when the house is empty. So yeah, my AC is currently running. 'cuz, Florida.
What would you do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 1, 2018:
Grab the treadmills from the nearby gym and put those zombies to work generating electricity and party like it's 1999 until someone with a tank comes and takes it from me. Then die Then die again
What is the main reason why you are not religious?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 1, 2018:
As a child the bible stories didn't make sense.
Please share one awesome thing about where you live. :)
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 1, 2018:
It's in the 70s when most of the country has snow. And we have a beach.
Voting should be compulsory in all countries as it is in Australia and New Zealand.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Jan 1, 2018:
I disagree with making it compulsory as people would either vote without consideration or punished too severely should they be unable to get to the polls. I do think that it should be made easier for people to vote.
