You are correct. I have two rescue dogs and an health insurance policy for them would almost equal what we pay for our selfs. I personally think we should be able to add them to our policies. Your homeowners policies allow all types of additions like wedding coverage, theft etc. Having sold insurance for forty years I see no reason why it couldn't be added to a homeowners or health policy.
