This is what is called a delayed beat melody, for effect. It's fairly common in the music world. I love Phil, but phonicly , as in the studio, I always thought he reserved the third beat needlessly. He should have hit hard on the third beat and the song would have been much more dynamic. Ater all,..Phil is the drummer. But,...what do I know, I'm just a dance teacher.

You've over complicated the experience, I know where you're coming from I have a First Class FCC license and 40 years in and out of electronic repair and theory, including computers. As a Naval Hull Technician, we were literally trained to repair things with no parts. hell we were at see, radio shack or the auto parts store wasn't around the next wave. We had two solid rules. 1.) If it ain't broke don't fix it, 2.) If it's already broke, you can't hurt it, everything else is fair game.
