I'm an atheist raised in the church but never felt it connect. I spent some years struggling in my 20s and after a lot of discovery realized I didn't believe. I was anti-theist for a while and then grew out of it. I now live in a rural community that's very religious near my family who is also very religious, and I've made peace with the fact that religion is just a part of culture in America and the South. I'm also really into left-wing politics, Progressivism, Democratic socialism, and making sure that we protect the Earth, embraced science, and take care of people who are obviously doing everything they can but can't seem to get anywhere in life. I'm very passionate about that. I'm also a huge nerd, and enjoy discussing things academically and having really good conversations about how we know things. And I also really enjoy just casually experiencing nature and people watching to better appreciate life and everything around.
