I am with you. Regardless of who it may be one must avoid manipulation, toxicity, guilt. I left my mother with 35 years of no contact with the aid of counseling. The damage she did was now heaped upon others. Other counties social safety nets are a large family. We in the US have other options. She died with me never reconciling our division & I have no problem remaining segregated from her nightmare. I do not believe we are obligated to endure the damage others attempt to inflict upon us. A DNA connection does not alter my view on self-preservation. Good luck in achieving some peace.

The question in my mind is not so much what is life, but whose body is it & what right does the government have intruding on it except for when one signs up for the military or consents to experimentation. If life was important there would be more emphasis on existing human life. The religious impart a soul at the moment of conception but a soul is not a scientific fact. It is "faith" that there is. A pregnant woman's body must reduce the immune response in order for the pregnancy not to be terminated as the immune system responds to this foreign body growing. The autonomy of ones body is foremost regarding the right to privacy. The government has no business inside of anyone. Forced transfusions were outlawed in 1991 in Werth vs. Taylor. Government must respect the autonomy of its citizen's bodies. Thusly outlawing prostitution, drug use, consenting adult practices, are un Constitutional in light of SCOTUS's decision on the "right to privacy" via Roe vs Wade.

The entire half of Madagascar is devoid of forests. I am involved with IPPL, International Primate Protection League which has a focus on the remaining forests of the north where lemurs remain. Then there are the palm oil plantations in Malaysia & Indonesia replacing the rainforest which will impact climate. A current theory is that the Mayan civilization collapsed as they decimated forests & brought on extended droughts & soil infertility. We have work to do & forgoing large human populations is essencial.

ZPG it was. Sierra Club lost its tax exempt status as it was deemed by the IRS to be a lobbying group attempting to change laws. That is an important aspect of our movement & some one has to address this as well as work in the field. Family planning is also a major challenge & the focus on this issue is fairly recent in America's history as contraception became legal in 1964-65. I tend more towards grass roots organizations in order to aid in their launch. Xerce Society, International Dark Skies Association, Pollinator Partnership. Wild Ones began with one woman in Milwaukee eschewing the ubiquitous American lawn & installing native prairie habitat. Inspired by her efforts, I manage my property to be habitat for wildlife. Native prairie, oak savannah etc. I received resistance 30 years ago but now have 2 neighbors who have adopted this alternative. I also focus on administrative fees. Always seeking new eco focused groups of which population stability is of the utmost importance. Every step, every contribution is better than stagnation or indifference. Keep up the good work.

In America the opposition does not put our Presidents in prison as they do in other nations. That would be setting a dangerous precedent & we have enough of those occurring currently. But those that enable this poor excuse for an American might have a prolonged visit to the inside of a prison cell, would be a fitting finale to this period of aberrance in our politics. Justice regarding him would be for me, seeing his spawn in an orange jump suit, an appropriate color, along with his enablers. Seeing him living in a cardboard box without any access to credit which funds his gratuitous lifestyle, would find him residing nest to the PTSD ravaged Veterans he "admires" so much but did nothing to aid in their recovery. They can do it safely here without facing the condemnation of their religioso families, friends etc. I always loved Thanksgiving as I think gratitude is a positive attitude. But the holiday has taken on new meaning as our First Americans suffered immensely as a result & still do. I am grateful for so much but do not observe this holiday as it has deformed into another excuse for gluttony, greed, commercialism & family trauma. For those who are less cynical than I, enjoy. I will not. Just as with Columbus day which was FDR's appeal to the Italian vote. We need some holiday revisions. Honoring the Prince of Peace on the 25th has become "recipe WARS" ( wars! Really?) or competitive brain bashing sports events. Watch CTE as it happens. Humans must find a manner in which to resolve their differences without storming the Capitol & smearing feces on the doors of those they disagree with. That was the idea of the Founding Fathers who were not perfect, could not see into the 21st century, but were trying to form a more perfect union by which to baby sit ourselves. Good tidings to all & peace be with us.

@ Marionville. There are different degrees of introvertism. I have no problem on the net but the phone or in person I completely stress. A career in the phone company, very disturbing instances on the phone along with people on a face to face situation required extreme impulse control & tact of which I am able to do. It drains me of all energy. Having to restrain ones fight/flee/freeze/ reactions changes one's brain chemistry & the on going bathing in those brain chemicals = PTSD which so many of us have, Coupled with poor social skills due to being raised by unbalanced parents who kept me isolated during developmental years, I am a mess. But others are worse off than I. I am functionable & have my animals (who are not boyfriends) Science isn't either or. There seems to be degrees in everything. Stay tuned.
