The lockdown here started on 23d March. I think the USA was a bit later than that
It was very badly handled from the beginning. It was thought at first that the "herd immunity" approach would work until it was realised that the health service would have been totally overwhelmed and people would be dying by the thousand.
Prof Nial Ferguson who was the govt;s chief advisor iuntil he had to step down for welcoming his married lover to his house (naughty man) has now said that if lockdown had been a week earlier the death rate would have been halved. Isn't hindsight great.
Like the USA the economy has been devastated and will probably take years to recover, but the alternative would have been worse.
We are now gradually coming out of lockdown but it is a delicate balancing act. I wouldn't like to have that responsibility. .

There was a pub in Edinburgh I used to frequent and the prices and alcohol% of the beers on tap were listed on a blackboard on the wall.
Edinburgh prices are quite steep so when I saw a fairly strong one at a reasonable price I ordered one to find I only got a third of a pint. That was a sobering experience ;-(

The use of new world hops in craft brewing has produced some great tasting beers but they are more expensive so the beers cost more.
A favourite brewer of mine is Six Point from New York. Great tasting but a bit on the strong side.

It is a misconception that English beer is warm. Traditionally it is drunk at celler temperature or around 50 F'

They widely advertised their flame grilled burger obvioulsy show their superiority to Macdonalds, On the first week the burger bar caught fire. An Example -: The Netherlands. GDP just marginally less than the USA People cycle everywhere Percentage of obese People 18%. USA , hardly anyone cycles. Obese % 33%
