I do a charity ride most years from Glasgow to Edinburgh, about 45 miles, on my hard tail mountain bike and am often passed by kids on proper road bikes so I know what you mean.Most of my cycling is done at the gym at the moment as my usual forest tracks are so muddy with all the rain we have had and BBC film crews joyriding their SUV's on them.

By my arithmetic that works out at 6 cents per mile which sounds like good value compared to diesel or petrol even allowing for the cheap fuel prices in the US. Of course you have to factor in the extra cost of an electric car and the possible replacement of batteries during the life of the car.

I have heard this before but surely it is just over elaborating the story. It was common in mythology for god/men to be born of a virgin so this was probably added to the Jesus story to make him more godlike. The first gospel written attributed to "Mark" had no virgin birth and it was probably added by later writers for effect.

That's tough. I have had dozens of tick bites over the years but only once had the tell tale rash, Lyme disease is not so common here but with the milder winters ticks are much more common. I asked my GP for a course of antibiotics and his exact words were "We don't usually give them at this stage" in other words we wait until the disease is established and then have much more difficulty eradicating it. I insisted and he relented and I had no symptoms at all. I have known several people with the full blown disease including a friend who is now in her eighties with a myriad of health problems which may or may not connected to it. I would think the sooner you get treatment the better Good luck.

I think the answer is to take a reasonable sized portion and eat it SLOWLY. I tend to gobble my food and go back for more because I am still hungry. My brother seems to take the regulation 20 chews per mouthfull. He is skinny and I have to watch my weight although I never have been really fat. The rest can then be frozen for use later.
