The above video is very long but gives a fascinating insight into how the "war on drugs" is destroying lives.

Had a similar experience. People in their ignorance and stupidity sometimes dump unwanted litters of kittens near a farm thinking they will be looked after. It's stupid because the cats can carry disease that may be transmitted to farm animals. This happened at a farm where my ex kept her horse so she took one of the kittens home. It hated being in the house and eventually lived out side and appeared to be fed. It once disappeared for weeks and we thought it had been killed but it reappeared with the fur round it's neck worn away. Someone had obviously had it tied up and it had escaped and returned to us.

We were returning home in the dark and at a crossroads.. the driver thinking it was one of those crossings was about to drive over and the local resident shouted "No don't go". . With her local knowledge she was aware that the other road was considered to be the main road and drivers on it had right of way. We were very close to being wiped out. A crazy system. @paulette96 Because I live in Britain and I keep abreast of the news. Heroin addicts are given methadone as a drug replacement. There is not a prescription opioid epidemic as there is in the USA. Russel Brand is a stand up comedian, or so he says, not an expert on drug missuse
You think you've got problems with the opioid epidemic in the USA?

Russell Brand put together a documentary about the opioid epidemic in Britain. Their answer is to maintain all the addicts on methadone; indefinitely. Its worth watching.

@genessa I think the police and security forces see it as an impediment to them keeping tabs on potential terrorists. They are already accused of victimisation of Muslims with stop and search powers and if the meaning of Islamophobia is broadened it would make their job more difficult for example asking Muslim woman to remove face veils would be considered an attack on "Muslimness" Personally I cannot see how Islamaphobia can be called racism as any race can be a Muslim.

Virginity is still prized in some cultures. God/Men "born of a virgin" was not uncommon then and you will note that the earliest gospel of Mark did not include the nativity scene so it was probably added by later writers to make Jesus more godlike. The Roman Catholic church still venerate the virgin Mary

@KKGator What ?. That Obama restored the reputation of the USA or that Trump is more harmful at home than abroad. There are civil wars in Libya and Syria at the moment and Obama is partly responsible for both. He oversaw the removal of Gadaffi and was involved in promoting the disaster that was the Arab spring. Apart from making things worse in Israel Trump has been fairly quiet in foreign adventures.
