@Earthling50 Not Christian propaganda ?? This is a paragraph from one of the links :- The idea that there is only one God “may well have been the single most important innovation in history. For our purposes monotheism’s importance lies primarily in the fact that it is the only viable source of absolute truth. Only a single creator God can establish such truths. Monotheism also allowed for the formation of the rule of law, whereby God stands over and above His creation, and establishes immutable laws that are equally applicable to all people without exception.4 With no such conception of God and His law, individual people or cultures occupy God’s throne, dispensing justice as they see fit. Man-made laws are as changeable as the human mind and may not be applicable to the ruling power. Are you sure you are on the right site ?

A referendum was held, passed and was approved by govt. If the UK wishes to be democratic, then another referendum is needed to JOIN the EU. It was not an election it was an advisory referendum called by Cameron to try to quieten the eurosceptics in the Tory party. Is that democracy ?. I don't think so.

@Marionville I don't see any problem with handguns for shooting at targets having to be kept at the gun club. After all that is the only place they can be used and it stops the possibility of them falling into the wrong hands either in transit or in theft from the home. It means that if a person is found with a handgun anywhere but at the club he/she is guilty of a crime. They should also be much more secure at the club. Shotguns and sporting rifles are a different matter as the can legally be used elsewhere. I had a shotgun which I used for rough shooting at the time of Dunblane which I kept in a proper gun cabinet but afterwards It was such a hassle getting approval each year. that I got rid of it I had to get a JP or someone of similar standing and as I hardly used it it was more trouble than it was worth. Semi automatic rifles are something else and should be totally banned for use by the general public.

@Earthling50 I didn't expect to see examples of blatant Christian propaganda posted as being a positive thing on this site.. Why do you think the US constitution deliberately separated church and state ? Of course China are in Africa, but not with troops, with businessmen. Namibia, one if the poorest countries in Africa is selling uranium to China and benefitting greatly from it. The US farmers also benefitted by selling soya to China until Trump's ill advised tariff war. The situation in Kashmir is a result of the British Raj and their hopeless handling of partition in 1947. You talk about imperialism. This is a summary of US imperialism round the world.Facts which can easily be checked "Despite recently closing hundreds of bases in Iraq and Afghanistan, the United States still maintains nearly 800 military bases in more than 70 countries and territories abroad—from giant “Little Americas” to small radar facilities. Britain, France and Russia, by contrast, have about 30 foreign bases combined."

@Earthling50 It's very easy for us living comfortable cosseted lives in the West with mature democracies to criticize much younger countries. The USA is a special case because the European settlers just moved in and displaced the existing inhabitants but Europe was at war for centuries before peace reigned after WW2. Moravian comments on Mar 13, 2019:
What a ridiculous question.
Moravian replies on Mar 13, 2019:
@Renickulous So it is all about your definition of morality. Actually your argument and question is specious. A bit like the old chestnut "when did you stop beating your wife?". Get a good dictionary and look up the meaning of human. You couldn't say "a human" because up to around 21 weeks an embryo/foetus is not viable . You could call it a potential human but that doesn't carry the same weight. OK you do not agree with abortion , you are entitled to your opinion but to try to justify your position with nothing more than semantics doesn't work I'm afraid.

@Renickulous You didn't answer my question. Under your reasoning is a woman who by her actions has a miscarriage guilty of manslaughter.

Moravian replies on Mar 13, 2019:
@Renickulous Of course a human foetus is composed of human DNA unless it is Ripley's alien or a hybrid pig human that Chinese scientists are playing about with at the moment. That's what I mean by it's a ridiculous question. Whether women have the right to have control of their own bodies is an entirely different question. I'm not sure what your motivation is unless it is to try to make women feel guilty but if you insist then the question should be when is a foetus viable. Millions of embryos are miscarried every year and if this is caused by the woman taking drugs or even from extremely vigorous exercise then under your reasoning the woman is guilty of manslaughter. Now that is ridiculous. .

@tkcoy so how far back do you want to go ?. To the Monty Python parody of the Roman catholic church "every sperm is sacred". Many countries still have the death penalty including some states in your own country so are they not human ?

Moravian replies on Mar 12, 2019:
I think they have mostly been grounded now and have been banned from all UK airspace. I don't know if this is true but I heard that because this model has heavier engines located further forward there is a tendency for the plane to stall so the computers have been programmed to drop the nose of the plane if this happens. The pilot can override this but the airlines and crew have not been fully informed of this. I find this totally unbelievable but if it is true Boeing are going to take a massive hit. Time to buy some shares in Airbus I think.
