I was raided Irish Catholic. My parents delayed religious education and church going partly because of Cath/Protes issues. But by my teens I regularly had to leave the service to vomit. (no lie) When I was in the Army in Korea late 60s, I walked into a Buddhist temple and had what some Christians would call a "born again" experience. I was invited to return and receive instruction. One of the things that I liked right away was there was no go. Buddha was considered a human beings and a teacher. Part of his teachings are the epitome of agnosticism. Encouragement to face our suffering and find a way to overcome it makes much more sense then blind faith in an entity that at best leaves us to our own devices and at worst brings us to the state of the world today.
