From my perspective life is uncertain. None of us knows how long we have or what tragedies will befall us. The loss of a loved one is a terrible feeling and I wouldn't want to wish that utterly devastating pain upon anyone. I have grieved for losses in my life in the past and can only imagine the level of pain to grieve the passing of a spouse. I have grieved the ending of relationships and there have been moments when I have questioned the reasons for moving forward with my life because of that loss. I have always, when it's all said and done, come to the conclusion that no matter how devastating the pain, the happiness that I gained from the relationship up until that loss was worth it. I think life is random. No matter what you do there will be some happiness and some pain. You can try to avoid the pain of a relationship ending but you cannot avoid all pain. By avoiding the relationship because of the pain that it will cause when it ends you also avoid the happiness that would have filled your life as a result. For me, whatever happiness I can get out of this lifetime I will do everything in my power to create happy moments whenever and however I can. Yes that also means that there will be pain when those relationships end for me. If I get a week worth of happiness and memories which ends in a month of pain and emotional anguish, the happiness was worth it. If I get a year of happiness which ends in another year of grief then the happiness was worth it. I think it is up to each individual to decide how much happiness they need to make the greif worth it.

I have met four people from this site. One, 7 hours away, decided they wanted to pursue other avenues. The second, 15 hours away, is now a great friend and there is good chemistry but there are some differences in what we are looking for in a partner so we will remain great friends whom I will continue to visit as often as I can. A third I met last weekend while visiting the second and will be another friend. The fourth is local, one hour away, and there is chemistry but again we still need to have a lot of discussion before I will feel comfortable enough to call it a success. There are two more who have caught my eye as potential long term relationships, both more than 10 hours away. I am chatting with them trying my best to learn about them and open myself up to scrutiny. I will say that I do put a lot of energy into talking with people and asking questions. I put a lot of thought into creating connections and making friends. I am also willing to travel a very long distance for love and am also open to relocation if I find a great match. I understand that those who are unable to travel long distances or cannot relocate have fewer options. Obviously that's my experience, others I know if have met their matches and are happy, while others cannot find anyone. I don't think there is a secret, it's just like everything in life: some people are easy to talk to and meet more people and make friends easier than others.

Spiritual intimacy also exists and shouldn't be confused with religion. For me just being next to a person without taking or touching is an example of this. Some people describe it as "being on the same wavelength" or a "feeling that you've been friends forever even if you just met". Love can be any mixture of these three forms of intimacy. You love a friend when you have emotional and possibly spiritual intimacy without the physical. Romantic love includes all three. Some people actually enjoy physical intimacy without needing or wanting emotional or spiritual. The mix and the degrees of each form vary from relationship to relationship. I hope this helps.

You need to talk to your wife about options that she is ok with. Perhaps paying for a sex worker if you live in a state where prostitution is legal. You could also ask her for an open marriage. If she is ok with either option then you're golden. If not then you need to ask yourself if this is a deal breaker and get a divorce. There is no scenario that I will condone where you go outside of the marriage without her consent.

I would need to meet the spouse before I even started dating the person. Dating a married person impacts the spouse therefore consent by that spouse is a requirement not an option.
