My reverence of the scientific method should mean that I am agnostic, however I am fully ensconced in the definition of an atheist. I was raised in a household where religion was not practiced but also not discouraged. The notion if god always seemed silly.

My career in emergency health care affirmed that life can be profoundly unfair and appallingly short.... make the best of your life and your health.

I am misanthropic and yet intellectually gregarious. I enjoy discussing politics, medicine, sociology and Harry Potter. I love cats, like dogs, hate mushrooms, butter, and licorice.

Politically, I am a socialist liberal.

I am a competitive shooter yet advocate the need for balance between public safety and personal freedom when it comes to firearms law.
