@GreatNani unfortunately that is not true everywhere. In fact in many places, polling stations are being shut down entirely. Operations vary greatly depending on where you are in the country.

There is a cycle to abuse and one of the first steps is to convince the abused that they need the abuser, whether financially, emotionally or physically. Only after this "need" is established does the abuse begin. This is one of the major reasons abused people struggle to leave their abusers, they've been extensively brainwashed.

That must have been a great let down for you. You were right to check up. That is the oldest story in the book, but it is harder to conceal personal details in this digital age. Was he still living with his wife? If so that makes it all the more reprehensible. I wish you luck in finding ...
OpposingOpposum replies on Aug 25, 2018:
@Lisl doesn't it? I agree he should have been up front about his situation and for that I would have ended things. However, He and the ex wife have called it quits, they're living separately. I get that it "looks weird" but with the housing situation as bad as it is I can understand him not moving. He would probably prefer not to be homeless. Sounds like a tough spot he's in and he unfortunately decided against honesty. To be fair though once you found out, you judged him just as harshly as he feared you would which is probably why he lied.
Be careful on here.

I got in trouble when I first stopped working. There was a state agency that paid my back rent and got me into public housing. I found them when I went to find help with my utility bill. It was a state agency. I am sure her state has something similar.
OpposingOpposum replies on Aug 24, 2018:
@sweetcharlotte here in Florida we "have" those things but good luck getting access to them no matter how dire your situation. Housing assistance has such a long waiting list that they aren't taking ANY new names. I' ve personally known people who have died waiting for medicare to kick in so they could get treatment. The institutions are still there but the funding is not.
I like bug butts and I cannot lie.

This is a little off topic but are you aware of the movements for growing food native/happy with Florida's climate. There are some folks working on that down here at anna maria island and I've often wished I had the capital to start a "florida food" restaurant. I think it would amazing.
