That is a great way to handle it. Unfortunately in the public sector abuse and harrasment of service people has to be extremely egregious for the perpetrators to receive any kind of push back. The profit motive trumps all else, so service people end up having to deal with unlivable wages, unreasonable hours and all sorts of abuse from the public. I've gotten to the point where I really hate corporations because they seem to encourage and increase dehumanizition in many ways large and small.

@IAJO163 you're getting a lot of anger but I understand what you're saying. Sometimes people aren't willing to live with a quality of life that is not what they want. @archer5691 I have a real problem with the "equality of outcome" argument. You feel that a place to live, food, education and health care should only be available to those who excell? People who cannot succeed for one reason or another must just suffer and die because they're not "good enough". That's some heavy duty social darwinism ya got there. This philosophy is very strongly supported in the US and what we have now because of this attitude are millions of homeless people and families, people dying from treatable or preventable medical issues in droves and people suffering all sorts of illegal injustices in the workplace because they know they'll get fired for reporting it. These are the real world effects of your tidy "winner take all, literally" philosophy.

You know what else would help is if we were able to sniff one another's bottoms the way dogs do. Then we could get a sense if we were compatible. It might also help if we were able to lick each other's genitals like dogs do. But alas as humans we are constrained by social norms that are often ...

Aha. There is a right to keep and bear arms but not to manufacture them. Something about targeting the manufacturers, rather than the end user as was done with phillip morris?

@OldWiseAss yep. Reading the bible all the way through was the first step in me learning religion is nonsense.

OpposingOpposum replies on Jun 6, 2018:
@ProudMerry. That's awful. I will never understand or accept this idea that women must throw themselves on the funeral pyre to be "good women". This expectation that women must negate themselves for their families and spouses needs to go toute sweet.
This is just.

OpposingOpposum replies on Jun 6, 2018:
Right? I'll bet there was much more to that story. The automatic villainization of women who don't sacrifice their entire lives to their offspring is a particularly nasty social more. Children of men who do it rush to forgive those "fathers" later too. One of my uncles used to beat his wife and kids until my aunt finally left him. Now that he's older and sober my cousins have embraced him and talk about what a great dad he is. They've somehow forgotten him slamming little kids up against walls and breaking my aunt's jaw. All forgiven, water under the bridge etc.

I think that I'll decide for myself whether or not I want to block someone, and if I do whether I'd like to reconsider. On the other hand, I'm not going to change my opinion on a single issue because someone on the internet blocked me. This may be the most poorly conceived suggestion I've seen ...
OpposingOpposum replies on Jun 5, 2018:
@TheMiddleWay who cares if the block was a "mistake". The blockee commited some act or other the blocker found repugnant enough to block at least once. The price you pay for being obnoxious and repugnant is that people won't like you and won't listen to you.
