From what I've read lupus does not cause depression directly, but coping with the various symptoms can, and also taking the corticosteroids can cause clinical depression. Depression is very treatable and lots of good idea out there for that. Be kind to yourself. hugs

My doc says the inflammation affects brain tissue which causes the brain fog. The exhaustion and constant low level pains do the rest. She put me on an anti inflammatory for two weeks and I felt amazing. All of my symptoms melted away by the 4th day. Unfortunately its really carcinogenic so I'm limited in how often and how long I can take it.
