Dawkins speaks brilliantly about theism and evolutionary biology. However, he is an elitist and supports globalism and the E.U.

Members of other cultures must be converted, subjugated or executed. This gives Islam an evolutionary advantage over humanistic ideologies. Islam's advantage is enhanced by the tolerance and encouragement of the regressive left. Multiculturalism, open societies and globalism are elegant philosophical theories, but cannot benefit humanity while the existence of Islam persists. Think carefully before assuming that these statements are bigoted or xenophobic. Islam is not human. I am objecting to Islam, not to ts followers, who are betrayed, oppressed and enslaved by the ideology. They would be much better off assimilating into a more secular and/or humanitarian culture.

@IAMGROOT Answer: Replacing income tax with "Consumption based taxation". A flat, identical income tax rate, with no deductions, levied on individuals and on corporations would be fair to all segments of society. The Universal Basic Income would compensate for the lack of personal deductions. Our current complex, deduction-rich, exemption-rich graduated system is too easy for the wealthy to "game", giving them lower de facto tax rates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drVgpTfJYMQ

@mordant Your statement is based on a false premise. The authors of the Old and New testaments are well known, human, and therefore fallible. The Qur'an purports to be God's (Allah's) words relayed to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel. Therefore, the answer to each of your questions is no. Not all followers of "the prophet" are terrorists. All who profess the Shahada are required by Muhammad to be jihadists in some fashion, and jihad often entails terrorism. Incidentally, education, intelligence and rationality are not synonymous. The academic circles boast the best educated, yet academia tends to support regressive leftism, political correctness, safe spaces, censorship, etc. They also tend to support Marxism and Socialism, two failed ideologies. Educational institutions need to revert to their classical function of teaching how to think, instead of adhering to their current pursuit of indoctrinating what to think.

PBuck0145 replies on Aug 15, 2018:
@bigpawbullets In our case, with a poverty-line UBI supplanting our income, we would be able to tolerate a 50% flat tax on all non-UBI income (with no deductions) and still be better off financially. In reality, the flat tax rate would be much lower than 50%, because the UBI would be financed largely through the elimination of most financial welfare programs. Ironically, while a UBI/Flat tax system would increase productivity and thereby the overall wealth of society, the system has little chance of ever being tried, even on a small scale. There is too much leftist ideological opposition to the flat tax, and too much right-wing opposition to "social programs". What is needed is a "Compassionate Liberal Capitalism". More cooperation and less left/right confrontation.

@bigpawbullets Thank you for taking the time to consider this proposal. What is universally true is that people tend to act in their own best interests. The challenge is to have a system wherein the so-called "slackers" are better off by working and contributing to society than by living solely off the dole. Here are a couple of classic discussions on the subjects between two conservatives. The numbers quoted would need to be adjusted for inflation. My personal opinion is that the UBI combined with a flat tax (without any deductions) on all non-UBI income would be more effective and easier to administer than would a negative income tax.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drVgpTfJYMQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNffhKX4KC8

PBuck0145 replies on Aug 13, 2018:
@RobH86 Banning all face / identity concealment is non-discriminatory, whereas banning the Burka / Niqab could be interpreted by some as being anti-Muslim. My biggest objection to the Burka and the Niqab is that they facilitate the subjugation of women, keeping them subservient to men, limiting women's role in society to serving men and rearing followers of "the prophet". Face concealment hides the injuries of abused muslimas. Face concealment is rude, and interferes with effective communication. Face concealment makes it difficult to identify a lawbreaker, hence is a security issue. Those are my main reasons for supporting a face / identity concealment ban. There are several other reasons, I'm sure that you have some of your own.
