I couldn't pay my electricity bill and was in big trouble. The local VFW heard about me and called me to ask if they could assist. I told them I never went to Nam, I am a Nam era Vet. They didn't care. The presidents wife baked me some cookies. They paid off my electric bill and water bill. The cookies left me crying. The VFW does not care whether what kind of service you provided to the country. They will help.
