Deep, deep inside myself ... there is just more of myself ... a sort of junkyard of idea, reflections, speculations

There are moments when I really see it as a junk yard or a yard full of junk ... A Chinese junk would be nice sail away from all the trash.

I have a few serious obsessions:

  • a taste for twisted stories but with blood and guts.
  • some creatures: mole rats, naked or furry, olms, axolotls and their larger cousins: giant salamanders, camels and dromedaries, bonobo, pigs
  • Mexico
  • Bohemia

PontifexMarximus comments on Sep 20, 2018:
I remember once crossing a road at a busy intersection. There was a couple of dogs smack bang in the middle of the intersection. Eight cops were watching. My girlfriend said: " Looks these dogs are making love." I thought they were just having a fuck. Another time we went to a piggery with about 20 pigpens. As we walked along these pens I realised that each was occupied one a pregnant sow who was either sleeping or slowly moving about. It was siesta time. When we reached the last pen my girlfriend said, pointing at a larger pig: "That is the husband." She just laughed when I asked her whether they had a group wedding or just a series of weddings. I wished I could have interviewed these pigs. I think we often engage in mental acrobacy to deny the fact that we are animals. Perhaps we should cleanse our minds of the idea that sex is cleansed when wrapped in pink love. Even if love is envolved sex is animalistic. Herpes probable doesn't care whether it was transmilled during a fuck or a session of passionate love making.

Boris Johnson's burka jibe: Why do some Muslim women wear the veil? - BBC News
PontifexMarximus comments on Sep 19, 2018:
I think anyone should be allowed to wear whatever tickles their fancy. However, public nudity is not allowed. Perhaps nudist should register as a religion and then claim exemption from the prohibition. A torough debate is needed. In France a woman wearing a burkini on the beach was forced by police to remove it. In Austria a guy went to the high court to fight for his right to wear a colander in the photo for his driver licence. He claimed that it is religious headgear worn by the pastafarians. According to Austrian law people wearing headgear for religious reasons are allowed to keep it on for the photo. I would say privileges should not be granted because of religion ... there might still be religions practising human sacrifices.

PontifexMarximus comments on Sep 19, 2018:
Well ... with all due respect ... This post is weird. To your question: Depending on the circumstances sex can be seen as a commodity, thus by extension, as a substitute currency. You might have heard of prostitution. Then you state that you had *seemingly* satisfactory sex with your friend. So you are only sure of your own. From your nonchalant phrasing I take it that it was casual sex amongst friends. The sequence should have rung a bell. From your account I get the impression that you were not lovers before you paid for her classes. But what really puzzles me is that you throw in your nationality at the end. Are you implying that among French friends this situation is impossible (which according to Napoleon is not French)? Are sex and money incompatible in the French psyche? I think you are thinking too much in stereotypes.

Are there any female atheist activists?
PontifexMarximus comments on Sep 19, 2018:
I think that the issue of atheism is distorted in the Anglo-sphere. In other *western* countries atheim is so entrenched that there is no real need for advocacy. Though this can change dramatically very quickly. But to an extent the absence of female atheist voices could play in the hands of conservatives who might want to criminalise abortion. Australia might be slipping down that chute. Apparently the new despot from down under seems to feel that some god sent him on a mission. One can only hope that liberal female voices are being heard and listened too when it comes to issues such as abortion and contraception etc.

You raise an interesting point. You are a closet atheist Just imagine how many like you are out there and think: "Why do I have to pretend?" I am convinced that many "believers“ are just ***believers of convenience***. A few years back I had to think about secret ballots. Since my first vote I was suspicious of the practice. Unless there is really danger for one's life etc. they should be open. And the principle applied to more facets of life. Nowadays we are told about privacy and even friends would be reluctant to give out other friends' phone numbers. Yet I still remember time when phone numbers were listed in public phone books. Sorry ... going off on a tangent. I hope you can become brave enough to liberate yourself without too much drama. Good luck!

PontifexMarximus comments on Sep 18, 2018:
Jobs are not there to provide satisfaction. The role of a job is to remind you that you are just a cog in a big machine. I almost wanted to go to the school and question the stupid teacher by telling her/him the story of Nelson Mandela. Little black boy in Apartheid South Africa writing: "I want to become the president of SA!" I was recently thinking how much one have to devulge about oneself just to get a shitty job. Only those who are daring can hope for a "dream job". The bulk of people just skave away.

Very high populations of wankers are to be found in certain areas of London including Shoreditch and Hoxton; see also Shoreditch twat. 2. Someone with a faintly sociopathic lack of regard for other people; see also arsehole. 3. Someone useless, inefficient or time-wasting, especially in a place or work and/or position of responsibility. **tosser** ok, here's the true explanation: while the word wanker is a more general and term for expressing disdain for somebody, the word tosser describes a person with a tendency to show off or brag in an excessive and embarrassing way.

I made similar experiences in real life where i was given peanuts for tasks that would have dignified an ape and for some monkey jobs i was rather handsomely rewarded. It was as an illiterate that I was given the most financially rewarding jobs, combined with other perks. In contrast for really good work I was often not paid at all. Here at least the points are given whether I excrete verbal garbage or something slightly better. Pecunia non olet ... neither do points.

PontifexMarximus comments on Sep 16, 2018:
This reminds me of a story written by a French guy in Polynesia ... well .. in French Polynesia ... in Tahiti to be precise ... Where the women are called vahinés ... When this noun is uttered it evokes all the magic of the South Seas ... all the tales, all the exotic tastesL the taste of salt on smooth skin carefully covered with monoï, the distant sound of the gentle surf, the fragrance of frangipani ... bref beauty in it purest as the promise of happiness. I always thought that these descriptions were exaggerated ... now I thinks they are insufficient to express the exuberance that emanates from these heavenly creatures. Back to the story ... a typical story of the naive French guy who gets sucked into the magic of a vahiné and erroneously extrapolates that vahiné would rhyme with a possissive pronoun. Moments with such a creation that could make a staunch atheist believe in a god, a male god ... these moments are ephemeral ... just like the effects of other drugs ... they transport the mind into some exotic place ... but there is no road map or GPS to find the place and there is no lock or PIN to claim exclusive access.\ Our Frenchman doesn't understand this and when the vahiné vanishes, his mind is chucked into a complicated series of processing machines, tools, devices, subject to mechanical, chemical and emotional stress tests. Rage, sadness, dispair, hope ...all are blended together. Getting drunk and drugged doesn't really help ... 10 days go past and our Frenchman is reduced to a little empty shell just functioning mechanically. Suddenly, just as she had vanished, the vahiné reappears ... the impact is overwhelming ... but the rage takes over ... Monsieur le Fenchman starts asking questions ... The vahiné just steps back looks him into the eyes, drops her pareo and slowly decribes a pirouette and in the voice of a bird of paradise asks innocently: "Anything missing?"

PontifexMarximus comments on Sep 16, 2018:
Because of some comments I received I had to reread the article here (I cannot access the BBC website). "Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has been severe in his criticism of Wonga in the past, accusing them of trading in misery." ... but the church didn't act before the business became insolvent (I guess). Now the church investment fund is looking into buying Wonga out. So the church is investing into a business offering a financial service. The new owner will make sure the loans will be repaid. There is no indication the church might just cancel the debt. "With the company in administration, its loanbook is going to be put up for sale at a bargain price." So the church is a bargain hunter ... if they buy the debt at the fraction of the nominal value ... of course they can be generous. Will they employ debt collectors? The problem with this article is that it primes the reader into thinking of the "goodness of the organisation". I am sure that the meeting at Lambeth Palace will not be as cheap as meeting at a McDonald's joint.

*To Kill a Mockingbird* ... The first time I didn't even get the story because I didn't understand the context.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simplicius_Simplicissimus Gutenberg Project: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/33858 **Simplicius Simplicissimus** I read this book in my teens. I was probably sick at the time. I read mainly when I was sick enough to stay in bed. I also suspect that I wanted to read it because of some salacious details my elder brother had mentioned. However, these details we buried under heaps of other details and instant gratification didn't seem to be forthcoming. Somehow I didn't like it. About 40 years later I gave it another go; I tried the original version first but I just found it too laborious. So I ended up reading the English translation and I adore the story.

"Our population continues on the same exponential trend and we are hurdling toward a serious resource crisis? How do we humanely address population vs. resources." What exactly do you have in mind when you write: " How do we humanely address population vs. resources“?
