I am 5-7 years away from retirement. Heck, I could do it now but my benefits are too good and they pay me well plus I have a great work/life balance working from home. Anyway... We have a yearly company meeting that takes 3-4 days. The CEO always speaks first, addressing the troops for the first two days. My dream is to pay a mariachi band to play and follow me up to the stage where I can first ask the CEO a few questions... Then give my notice. I think it would be epic!

I am SERIOUSLY excited for you! I might get into knives eventually but I bought cutting torches and a MIG welder for what I wanted to do. I built my house to look vintage... Old white oak flooring and new siding that looks old. Hard to believe you pay extra for that these days. anyway.. I wanted to make my own shelving brackets as I fell in love with some in Old Town Fredericksburg but the guy wanted $80 per bracket and I needed a bunch. It was cheaper for me to buy the torches, welder and steel and do it myself. Once my brackets were built I bought 1" thick oak shelves and then fired them with the rosebud tip on the torch... After sanding and oil... they look 200 years old and match the rusty steel brackets. I wanted some BIG sconces for my big great room. The largest I could find were way too small. So I built my own with steel and then hammered out copper, rolled it out on an English wheel, fire treated it to give it some color and then mounted it all. Now I am working on a chandelier for my dining room. For this I am also coppersmithing leaves to mix with the rusty steel.. The attached picture shows the overall (partial) design... Though I just removed the copper leaves and decided to remove some of the rust and I am going to try to brown the steel (like gun barrel bluing, except brown) to give it an aged patina. So... My thoughts... Get going with what you have on hand! Just start! As stated below, avoid the Harbor Freight anvil... Look on Craigslist. I bought a $100 railroad anvil that got me started. A guy on Craigslist was making custom ones and he even customized it with my property name on the end. Pretty cool. I eventually found an older 150 pound anvil at an antique store for $450. I mounted it on a wheeled oak post that I can use anywhere. Harbor Freight has its uses on some stuff. The english wheel I bought there is as good as any around. The pipe/tubing bender required some work to make it a little more sturdy. Have fun and get going! You'll have a blast and learn a lot!

I always help women I hike with. Not only over logs but also holding branches when hiking through woods. (I do that for everyone I hike with actually.) The last thing you want is a branch smacking you in the face because you are following someone in the woods. Stay away from slippery logs. Perhaps you should pack some whippets next time!

Yup... But I have learned to try to make it as it was... Not what I'd like more of or less of in the dish. I used to way overspice stuff. Now I am very careful. Had a buddy over for my home made chicken & cashew nuts the other night. He asked me why I would ever go out and order it if I can make it better than the restaurant we used to go to. It took YEARS to perfect that dish! Whenever I make it, I make 5 pounds of it so I can vacuum pack it away in the freezer for the times I don't feel like making it. It takes a while with all the prep I do. That way I can come home, put the bag in a pot of cold water and set the stovetop on high... 5 minutes after it starts boiling it is ready and it tastes just as good as when I made it. The cashews *might* be a little softer though.

My sight... I grew up with 20-15 vision. One of my nicknames when I was younger was Eagle Eye. While my vision at distance is still very good, I need reading glasses for the fine print up close. I would NEVER go that fast on a bike! Heck I never took mine on anything other than back roads for weekend cruises. But I've had several Porsche 911's... The 1st one was a warm-up for the 2nd. I can count on one hand how many times I DIDN'T go over 100 MPH when I took that one out. I had it up to just shy of 150. It was funny and I remember it like it was yesterday... My boss called right at that moment and asked what I was up to... I just told him right about 150 and took my foot off the gas. Yes... I love speed also. But for now, I am going for endurance and distance and giving up speed. I live 2 miles down a gravel road. The go-fast toys will have to wait.

I am not a vaper but I have tried it in the past. Vape juice has no water in it... It is an oil. More like cooking oil of a sort. Also, the vapes I have seen use a heater to create the vape... No other world news gets in (not much anyway and unless you look for it) and he has a chokehold on the country. You are seeing what he wants you to see. You are staying in chaos like he wants you to be. As long as you are diverted, he can systematically destroy the country as he has been doing. A scandal a day keeps the press on its toes and constantly off balance. The next year will tell whether we will be able to heal our wounds as a country or whether we will be headed for a fall, a revolution and another Dark Age. I really hope I am wrong on that...
