Motion/suggestion; How about we refer to people "on the left" as "Liberals"? It is, to me....a much nicer connotation. I do know that “leftist” is a negative connotation of “Liberals”...from the Conservative “right”....so perhaps it’s time to drop the negative/extremist POV of Conservatives toward being a Liberal and/ or progressive?

So you're still a "believer"...kudos for signing on to agnostic! And I concur; they - I call them the #religulous - do try to exploit the almighty $$... But be aware...so do agnostics. What separates us is that** we tend to invest in the future **more; whereas the #religulous invest in the most profitable yet most devastating to society; weapons, fossil fuels, war machines are clearly favored by the #religulous...alternative energy, future crop options are more in tune with the agnostic investor. The wealthy of the past got rich from being first to make weapons, to harvest coal, then oil, then natural gas (the frackers are also among the #religulous...the wiser, more scientific agnostics know fracking is not wise). Go to any famous "rich person's" home and you'll find two things in common; they got rich with fossil fuels or weapons, and they're #religulous. If I may recommend a good book; Maddow's "Blowout". Go here; then click "listen" to hear her read the first few lines... https://www.amazon.com/Blowout-Corrupted-Democracy-Destructive-Industry/dp/0593153456/ref=asc_df_0593153456/?tag=hyprod-20=df0=385115590018=1o1=g=15213245302260320569====c===9012433=pla-828071830471=1===78287769493===385115590018=1o1=g=15213245302260320569==c===9012433=pla-828071830471

Robecology comments on Jan 17, 2020:
The Christian "ethic" - for men to dominate, women to conform - is, sadly, still with us. Thus many less then perfect men work hard on dating, capturing, and claiming a woman who's hot, fit, and attractive. These average looking guys with the beautiful women are often the ones who have the $$$$. The HFA (hot, fit, attractive) women know that men with money will gladly pay through the nose for the company of that woman. Those of us agnostic men of modest means who respect "being fit" and close to ideal weight have a very small field of choice if we want to meet and date a "fit" woman. So I leave you with a question; How often do you see an average looking woman with a "hot" guy? Equally rare, IMO. Much more rare; how oten do you see an average looking guy **of modest means** with a beautiful woman? I'd say - rarely to never.

Misleading. Yes it is a very effective G.H.gas. No...it's concentration is not significant (presently only 3% of the total of all greenhouse gases). https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/overview-greenhouse-gases The #1 Danger is the simple production of heat by the growing population (158 more per minute, 227,000 more per day, a million more; that's births, minus deaths- every 4.5 days). https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/ The #2 danger is the increased combustion to keep these 227,000 warm, well transported, and well fed per day. The #3. Danger is CO2. Th3 #4 danger is CH4...methane. Solutions; 1.Family planning; 2. Education; a smart population is far more "in tune" with family planning. 3. Alternative energy; Hydro has been an effective alt energy source for nearly a century. Wind turbines are relatively new, as are solar PV'S. (Photo Voltaics). Robecology comments on Jan 15, 2020:
There's more to "chemistry" than meets the eye. Sometimes you create the "chemistry" before you actually meet a new person; good breakfast, good weather, good things going on in your life creates a more "sexually positive" POV..then whoever you meet...regardless of their "attributes" - will "turn you on". On the other hand; you could be all "turned on" and have a very hot person come in to your life that....well...is too hairy/bald, sloppy/neat etc....you get the idea. So IMO - just keep trying. Things will "click" eventually...or they won't?

Robecology comments on Jan 14, 2020:
I've been married 4 times. OK...I'm the marrying man. I always (until 2006) wanted to "go further" and make it work....but it never lasted more than 10 years. I've been married a total of 28 years; so I tried hard...and often had my "clock cleaned" when the divorces were finalized. And when the marriages had a partner "cheat" it was always them....never me. I also had - and still have - two male friends that have remained in touch since H.S./college days. In all that experience...I can say there's one thing that I valued most in a friendship; ** positivity.** I've tolerated dis-loyalty - and have been dis/unloyal myself. The "trustworthiness" is a two way street...you've got to be trustworthy to get that from a partner/friend. There's dependability - that should also go two ways... But these are traits "earned" with time. It's a mate/partner/friend who remains "positive"- can laugh, can talk calmly about "mistakes"...(and of course this requires a two-way effort as well...I work hard at remaining "positive"). They're the best in my opinion,...of course. ....Then all the rest - loyalty, dependability, trustworthiness - will fall in to place...

Robecology comments on Jan 11, 2020:
**Bernie isn't blindly against war**. He just thinks we don't have to have "killing contests" to make our point, I concur 100% from the article; “Now, I'm not a pacifist,” he (Sanders) hastened to add. “There are times when war may be necessary. But I believe, as somebody who as a young person opposed the Vietnam War, which was such a disaster for my generation, as somebody who helped lead the effort against the war in Iraq, which was such a disaster for our younger people, that I will do everything I can to resolve international conflict through diplomacy, through negotiations and not through the continuation of endless wars. Enough is enough.” **But to say flatly Bernie Sanders says "some wars are necessary" is a sensationalist headline **from a Bernie hater...IMO.

Let me share two articles about israel; 1.""Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II. To date, the United States has provided Israel $142.3 billion (current, or noninflation-adjusted, dollars) in bilateral assistance and missile defense funding. Almost all U.S. bilateral aid to Israel is in the form of military assistance..." That's over $5 million a day, US taxpayer money, sent to keep them well armed, well fed, healthy, and well educated. https://fas.org/sgp/crs/mideast/RL33222.pdf AND... "Unofficially, Tel Aviv wants everyone to know it has them, and doesn’t hesitate to make thinly-veiled references to its willingness to use them if confronted by an existential threat. Estimates on the size of Tel Aviv’s nuclear stockpile range from 80 to 300 nuclear weapons, the latter number exceeding China’s arsenal." https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/israel-may-have-300-nuclear-weapons-including-submarine-launched-missiles-87131
I don't think so.

Great video series. I hope more protections go out for the Otter; they're endangered in several parts of the world. Perhaps they'll be domesticated more like this one was. Shared on FB!

Love sandy beaches. Interesting trivia fact. Fine, sandy beaches takes thousands of years of ** stable and/or slowly receding* *shoreline to develop. With our new rapid world-wide sea level **rise** (presently 1/8 of an inch per year) we can kiss most sandy beaches good bye in a couple decades! https://www.sciencealert.com/the-science-of-sand

Robecology comments on Jan 11, 2020:
It's true that this species is probably identical to those found in other parts of the world; and once the Yangtze river is cleaned up they might be re-introduced. “The ecology of the Yangtze River is close to collapse due to human activity in past decades,” Pan said. “China has launched its campaign trying to recover the Yangtze River’s environment, and some ambitious policies have been introduced, such as the 10-year ban on fishing activity.” So the Chinese are working...much harder than we here in America - to restore the river. The Chinese are slowiy moving in to a position of global strength and wisdom. They are years ahead of us in renewable energy, for example; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renewable_energy_in_China Too bad their language and its' spelling is so difficult....but maybe that will be our legacy for the future; the world-side dominance of Chinese economic strategy with the world wide usage of our language.
