My question for today Being a landlord. Pros? Cons? I just bought a Condo-townhome within biking distance of where I live. I'm fixing it up....ceiling fans, new/better ceiling treatment (removing popcorn). New appliances. It's loaded and furnished...right down to the golf clubs and tennis rackets...and geared toward a vacationing family. I've been recommended to 1. Rent it/clean it on my own 2. Use a local rental agency (they presently want 18%) 3. Use Zillow/AirBnB and make my own rules.... 4. Hire a cleaning person/agency. What's your POV? Knives are good and getting better and cheaper all the time. Appliances are slowly improving. Microwaves are faster and cheaper than ever. TV''s are declining in price while improving in quality. The one area where there's a lot of "gas-lighting" is the I.C.E.car.(internal combustion engine). In the 50's and 60's they were far simpler...I changed the piston bearings on one. Now the tech people have made them too dependent on tech hookups for analysis. Enter the EV (Electric vehicle). Far simpler. 90% fewer moving parts...and Tesla just reduced the wiring inside them from miles to meters in length. I'm not saying they're easier to work on by us ordinary folk; they still need tech connections...the point is they'll need far less maintenance once the bugs are removed. Socialst leaders have tried - with horrible results - to control population. We can't keep growing...but for capitalism to work - it must. Socialism has the root of the issue in it's name. It depends on what you mean by "F'ed up"..on drugs? Distracted? Real women come in all flavors and varieties. Real men don't want to know 'F'ed up" women. Intelligence, a focus on getting/staying healthy, wisdom, are good things. Arrogance, righteousness, poor focus on health, blaming, irresponsibility...not good.

if you don't love yourself, or there's things about yourself you dislike or hate...It''s my opinion that you should at least be aware/cognizant that you're "addressing" these things. Again...that's just my opinion. I don't want an argument about that. Take it for what it's worth...but don't tell me I'm wrong. IMO.....Some slough off things they don't like about themselves as "bad habits I got from......" and leave it at that. I say to them, as politely as I can....that you need to at least consider trying to realize they're bad, why they're bad, and what plans you have to reduce or end them. Otherwise - how can you like - or dare I say - completely love - yourself? Again - this is just my opinion.

It's their livelihood to "live near/on the water's edge". the other 10% Live there because it's beautiful, isolated, private, primitive, and enjoyable. ...and they're paying insurance rates most of us can't touch to live there...but they look at it as a bet. They're betting that a storm DOES take out their property. That way they can rebuild bigger, stronger, and higher above sea level. They're not bad people; just very wealthy.
