Hello everybody! New to this group. How should I get started?

Post pics...of you doing everything/anything. Nothing personal....no "provocative" shots....that'll send awful messages. Just whatever you like to do on a regular basis...from cooking to biking to...whatever. Be short and concise in your bio. Interact...and interact some more. Chat. If you asked him not to text or call....and he did....that's a red flag. He is impulsive...and has little regards for your opinion or requests. You say he's intuitive, bright, and fun but you seem confused and not comfortable about your apparent lack of physical attraction. You have two choices, here. 1. Let him call and chat with you....feel it out. Get to know him better by phone/text/email 2. Go with your intuition. Block his texts and calls...respect the red flag. If you go with #1...set your boundaries more clearly. Make sure he respects you enough to respond accurately to your requests. If he breaks a rule again....he will continue to "break rules" throughout the relationship.

So, it is said by many people out there that "nobody wants to date a depressed person"... or more ...
Robecology comments on Nov 15, 2019:
So you have to ask yourself why "nobody wants to date a depressed person"? My answer? No one wants a "fixer-upper" except those who, by their nature, like to be depended on. So ask yourself....do you want to have an adult partner that's more like a parent, or more of an equal to you? Maybe if you work on your mental health....if you love yourself first enough to at least act mentally "well" most of the time....you'll be more appealing? The point I'm making..having a positive mental outlook is, in itself, appealing. Do you really want to become "dependent" on a lover who's a "parent figure" as well? Or do you want a relationship of equality? Those who define themselves as "depressed" or "mentally not well" come off as needy, lacking, and problematic. Knowing this; how do you "conquer your mental illness"? My suggestion - Reading, therapy for help, reading good self-help books...but basically....you do it by yourself. You fix yourself first **before** you seek a relationship. Then if you're "prone" to depression, anxiety, whatever mental ill you might suffer...at least you're in a position of wellness first. Then you can - as you get to know potential mates - allude to the fact that you're "not always 100% on the mental health spectrum. Once you've created an attraction and it's being nurtured, they're more likely to like - or even start to "love" you enough to help you through it. So again....fix yourself first. Then seek relationships. Then confide that you can and have slipped in to illness.... then if they won't or can't be there for you... ...at least you went in to the relationship having fixed yourself. Good books on relationships that helped me a lot were by Ken Keyes Jr. His biggest and best was "Handbook to Higher Consciousness" but he wrote many on relationships....

I think this is a lovely overview, much more interesting than it sounds. [youtube.com]
Robecology comments on Nov 14, 2019:
More than a "lovely" overview (I get it....you're a romantic) It's an important one. I volunteer for a botanical garden....and it's a common unawareness... that many make about plants...that they too, went through an evolution...only many of the "dinosaurs" of the plant world...the Cycads, the Ferns, the Bromeliads, the palm trees, etc....are still on earth...and still abundant in some regions. True; the "tree-fern" that was extensive 300-500 million years ago (and made most of our coal) is rare today...but it does still exist. I didn't hear this emphasized...so allow me; 99% of our Oxygen was NOT given to us by the Plants....it was the Pre-plants...the photosynthetic single celled organisms...that changed the sea from iron-green to blue (as Oxygen built up and then iron oxides settled to the bottom) and that built up our oxygen enough so that Ozone - 03 - the protective layer 10--15 miles up - that allowed plant and animal life on land to evolve. Don't thank a tree....thank a phytoplankton. This is planet ocean, not planet earth Good video. Thanks!

Good synopsis, CB...!! I'm a Democrat, and I want Trump gone...but... The Republicans aren't intentionally lying. It's their "truth". They're suffering s serious mass-delusion. They look at the attacks on Trump as the attack on the rich and successful. We must be careful not to let their clever "alternative truths" win us over...and win over the nation. If they win....and that's a strong possibility - then fossil fuel wealth(note the chart...US and Russia pay the lowest fuel taxes)will remain strong. Environmental protection will fade. Education for the elite will flourish...education for the masses will suffer. Worst case scenario...we could suffer extinction as our environment heats up out of control....too fast to shift crops northward...and disease vectors (flies, etc) will finish the destruction. The only fault I find with your comment is "the NEW front line of the anti-abortion movement. The Religulous value male dominance. They value a man deciding when a family should start. They value a woman keeping a secondary, almost slave-like roll in a relationship. This has been their tradition for centuries. Most religious families have children when the father decides the time is right...in other words...when he has "raped" his mate....and captured her... gotten her to "the alter"....this is the religious way of family creation.

It was much broader,” Schiff said. “It connoted the breach of the public trust in a way where you’re offering official acts for some personal or political reason, not in the nation’s interest.” To prove bribery, Schiff said, you have to show that the president was “soliciting something of value,” which Schiff thinks multiple witnesses before his committee have testified to in private.

First know the difference between dependent and dependant. “Dependent” is the adjective meaning needing something or someone else for support: Many adults are dependent upon coffee to help them wake up in the morning. “Dependant” is a noun used for a person (such as a child) who relies upon others for care: The parents must sign for a dependant to be able to have the surgery." https://www.k12reader.com/term/dependent-vs-dependant/

We're Running Out Of These Elements - Here's How [youtube.com]
Robecology comments on Nov 7, 2019:
The elements don't "disappear" - they just get tied up in the trash stream. Simple solution, as he said in the 7th minute; we have to get better at recycling. This is very anti solar panel, Lirhium batteries, and technology. No discussion of the rare elements used in Fossil fuel mining and production...but lots of scary news about Solar energy and Lithium ion batteries. Overall good science...and very fact-filled. We need to know their sources. They quote no sources.

I hate spiders!
Robecology comments on Nov 7, 2019:
I'm a science teacher...and it took a country-boy student to take the fear of spiders out of me.... We have lots of huge "Golden Orb" spiders around here in Florida...but this kid just grabbed one in the bushes...and showed the class how "tame" they were. He explained - to all of us - that most spiders will bite..but only if "trapped" or "compressed" - if they get down your shirt...they bite. If you squash them in your hands...they bite...but ordinarily they're quite complacent....and their main diet is insects like flies and mosquitoes! @sassygirl3869 f you value that isolated, back-to-nature view, you'll vote. I'm glad you were honest enough to admit you didn't - but please remember; it's your best voice to support continuing "the life" in the lower image. Right now the EPA is being stripped of provisions that took years to develop. The greedy pro-Republican/pro-rape-the-environment/anti-conservationists need to be voted out of office. Please - participate in future voting.

I think all relationships start with "fooling around"...a light-hearted flirtation here and there...not a bad thing. The lyrics give away a "bad boy" who "loved them then left them alone""....due to sloppy match-ups...no doubt...but it was a catchy tune... Fooled Around and Fell in Love Elvin Bishop I must have been through about a million girls I'd love 'em and I'd leave 'em alone I didn't care how much they cried, no sir Their tears left me cold as a stone But then I fooled around and fell in love I fooled around and fell in love I fooled around and fell in love I fooled around and fell in love It used to be when I'd see a girl that I liked I'd get out my book and write down her name But when the grass got a little greener on the other side I'd just tear out that page But then I fooled around and fell in love I fooled around and fell in love Since I met you baby I fooled around and fell in love I fooled around and fell in love Free, on my own that's the way I used to be But since I met you baby love's got a hold on me Ooh it's got a hold on me now, hey I can't let go of you baby I can't stop lovin' you now, hey 'Cause I fooled around, fooled around, fooled around Fooled around, fooled around, fooled around, fell in love Fooled around, fooled around, yes I did Fooled around, fooled around, fooled around, I fell in love Fooled around, fooled around, fooled around, fell in love

I recall visiting a friend in the hospital in the 60's that had 3 holes in his chest....where the horn ring clips pierced it. He was driving a 1956 Ford that got wrecked....flat steering wheel...not even "dished" or curved like the one in the 60's pic.
Tesla stock up an selling about $325.
Robecology comments on Nov 6, 2019:
I noticed that. I jumped in ($20K) when it was in the low 200's..so my worth is now about $30K. I suspect it will continue to rise. Amazon was in the low 200's 5 years ago. Now they're up to $1700. I'd jump in soon...in a few years you can sell the stock and buy a Tesla with the profits.
