You may be the typical common sense gun owner. But we all know an extremist. We all know a gun obsessive-compulsive A gun owner who's careless with his guns A gun owner who welcomes his kids experimenting with guns. The sickness is pervasive. We're far above other nations in the per-capita accidental deaths. You're not a "gun-loving moron" but you're obviously oblivious to the deviants who abuse them. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2e/2010_homicide_suicide_rates_high-income_countries.png/325px-2010_homicide_suicide_rates_high-income_countries.png https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States This video is a charming, if not factual and alarming, debate - with herself - about the gun issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR9NHjDi4EA

Two over-the-counter fixes... 1. DHEA; I forget what the letters mean...DiHydro something....google it.....but the docs test our blood for it. It's a precursor for making Testosterone...and in us old guys it gets low. I used to use 10mg, now I'm up to 50 mg. It's relatively inexpensive, and available everywhere. 2. Vitamin D and E. - mega doses. Not just the MDA doses... They're just vitamins...so very safe to "experiment". If you're ready to take a risk...google "Canadian Cialis"....and go to the link that seems the most trustworthy. I've been burned by these folk once...so be selective. Regular prescription isn't covered by ins, and costs hundreds per month. OTI (over the internet) costs $2-3 a tablet...but try small doses/costs first. You can try a few things too...are you close to that cute figure he met you with? if not... get busy if you care enough about his waning "libido" That will be something he'll never confess to...but that's a libido thing as well. And don't be ashamed to experiment. Do you share toys in the BR? Let him use your "tickler"...it's a great male exciter as well if we can help "get you off" You will thank me, soon, I'm sure.

When I read "Population Density and Social Pathology" in 1963...the world was 3 billion. Today it's 7.7 billion, and growing (births minus deaths) at the rate of 158 a minute. 227,000 per day. A million every 5 days. We were #1 in world education in the 60's...and that's when we went to the moon....when the tax rate for the wealthiest was 90%. Now it's in the 30% range. America will get back on track when we 1. Get rid of the wealthy/greedy/#religulous people 2. When we get more progressives in office. 3. When we grow in alternative energy 4. When we get much, much stricter with gun control 5. When we welcome, rather than shun and fear, family planning. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1501789/pdf/califmed00143-0080.pdf

Nice! But the Jalapeños give it too much (chemical) heat, IMO... I've always enjoyed Salsa....and just "kicked it up a notch"...or should I say "enriched" it...by adding sun-dried tomatoes. If you're working from scratch, as in the above recipe...just throw in a small container. I get individual baggies of them at the local food stand in Ft. Pierce. The trick is to puree the dried tomatoes in with the salsa. It makes it thicker, more tomato-y, and IMO...far more delicious.

I/we concur; but we have to take the message of Trump being elected seriously...and relate it to the collective state of mind of Americans... ...they're a lot more #religulous, naive, racist, sexist, and in general ignorant, than most of us realized. And a new president in 2020 won't change things much. This will be a slow-motion change until knowledge, learning, science, and facts catch up with most - or at least a majority of the world. If it doesn't happen soon, I'm afraid for the young people of the world...they will have to face extinction.
How many think the United States will still be here in two years except in name only?
Robecology comments on Jul 31, 2019:
Trump accomplished a lot...that's why the Republicans are so quiet over his indiscretions.... He got a corrupt, child-alcoholic on the Supreme court bench and many branches of he government is now headed by corrupt business people he appointed. He lied about the wall. He lied about not needing to golf. He lies every day, in many ways. We can only hope he doesn't lose control and press the nuclear attack launch buttons. He is still popular despite doing very poorly with tax changes (mostly for the rich) no wall (not even us paying for it) a huge funding for the military, and a continuation of the health care as it was when Obama left it...despite over 50 attempts to legislate it out. Remember; he never showed us his taxes. The economy is holding up because Obama redirected it...not because of anything he did. That could change before 2020 elections. So my suggestion is don't assume the US will be "gone"...we've just lost a lot of status and respect by both our allies and our enemies (Russia and N. I get that; but I think I know the answer.... By "hooking up" or getting involved with someone "out of our league" (assuming you're talking about someone ahead/above us) then we're hoping that the person we're searching for can help lift us up to a new level.

From the article; "Many parts of the world don’t bother with toilet paper, opting for water solutions like the bidet instead." Once you've experienced a "bidet" there's no going back. I confess....I'm a user. I recommend one with a temperature control....warm water makes all the difference! Mine was under $100. and $100 to get a plumber to install it. NBD.

We joke; but do you realize why the radical islamists talk about "virgins in heaven? it has to do with the lack of virgins on earth...for them. They demand Birqas and Hijabs because they are so sexually driven that any girl-child approaching womanhood is raped and impregnated. Women of Islam are terribly abused.
Who's watching the debate? I'm not, I can just get the highlights tomorrow (and the next day).
Robecology comments on Jul 30, 2019:
Sorry you're not watching Progressives who care deeply for our nations future are paying close attention to every voice. I'm not suggesting you don't care deeply; I'm suggesting that those who are watching - in general - care more, and want to be a better educated voter. Media highlights of the debates are just that - highlights. Watching each debate is an education for anyone who participates...and an educated voter is more valuable than a voter who's just viewed "highlights".

I'm not sure if the above comments are from the article or are yours, @Altschmerz, But I found the following alarming comment in the article - which does point to the need to rapidly move out of fossil fuels in to alternative energy sources; "As we all know, we cannot keep burning fossil fuels. If we do, we will rapidly make earth uninhabitable for complex life, including humans. Volcanoes burning buried fossilized carbon caused the greatest extinction event in earth’s history, the Permian-Triassic extinction, also known as “the Great Dying.” Much deadlier than the asteroid that decimated the dinosaurs, the Great Dying killed most life on earth and in the oceans. Today, we’re burning fossilized carbon ten times faster than those ancient volcanoes did." Again....that's Ten times faster than the rate we traced in the "great dying" era of the Permian-Triassic extinction. If we don't reverse this soon, rapidly, and thoroughly...our children and grandchildren will not only suffer and struggle...they might be the last humans on the planet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permian–Triassic_extinction_event

And don't get me started about Cobalt; but #1 it's renewable #2.It's becoming so abundant that prices are falling. Cobalt outlook 2019: Price performance review Analysts agree that the main trend the cobalt market experienced in 2018 was declining prices. “There were some exceptions to the rule, but from the end of Q1 and throughout 2018, we’ve seen prices decreasing and continuing to fall,” said Benchmark Mineral Intelligence analyst Caspar Rawles. According to Rawles, there are a number of reasons why prices have trended downward in recent months. These include the increase in the price basis of raw material feedstocks from the DRC going into China, and issues around credit availability and cash flowing in China as a result. Macroeconomic factors that led to negative sentiment also played a role. https://investingnews.com/daily/resource-investing/battery-metals-investing/cobalt-investing/cobalt-outlook/

Wow! I caught a false comment right away! "materials needed to build electric engines and batteries—like cobalt and lithium—are nonrenewable and limited" Sorry; very far from the truth. #1; There's a strong push to get away from cobalt because the miners skirted decency laws and are using child labor. Elon Musk has already re-directed toward safer smarter alternatives for the Tesla. (read about the "cobalt" conundrum here https://www.theverge.com/2018/6/21/17488626/elon-musk-cobalt-electric-vehicle-battery-science) #2. Lithium isn't the main ingredient - but it is a Key ingredient in Lithium ion batteries..and it's 95% recycleable....and harvested without mining the same way some table salts are harvested - from shallow bay and ocean pools. " The choir singing the bearish anthem re supply estimates is growing, with Citi and Canaccord Genuity joining the ranks of Morgan Stanley in calling for massive oversupply until around 2024. Got that? Oversupply? These oversupply estimates reach as high as ~150K MT in 2023. Understandably, this would have serious repercussions for chemical prices, potentially pushing them as low as US$7,500/t. And this is from an investor review who's generally very hard on Tesla...often accused of causing "short-selling" sprees with their negative comments. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4259034-lithium-supply-demand-forecasts-analysts-ignoring-facts

Robecology comments on Jul 30, 2019:
@yvilletom; If your response to a theist is anger-based; then you're not sure of yourself. There's just no need to be angry about any confrontation from a theist...unless you're uncertain...and (s)he's "pushing your buttons"...and knows you'll get upset. Agnostics say we "don't know" - with no evidence of a god, there's no proof. There's atheist agnostics who bet no god. There's Theist Agnostics who bet the possibility of a god.. But again...we - agnostics - just don't know. Nothing to be angry about, or to declare "fuck god".... "Maybe she exists...maybe she doesn't".... is my answer... Which then throws any "hedge your bet" claimers in to a tailspin..."you mean he, right?" they say - to which I ask....you've peeked under his/her robes? Don't be angry about a god existing or not...just laugh off the "Bet-hedge" accusers.

Hi, Dot... I hear you about the low-sugar thing...I've swtiched from straight sugar to splenda (sucralose) and sugar (in my AM coffee) Sucralose, BTW is by far the safest of all the artificial sugars...it's just one molecule away from sucrose (C6H12O6) so the liver and kidneys can metabolize it easily. Straight sugar gives me a jittery "high" anyway....I'm sure I'm borderline diabetic. Robecology comments on Jul 29, 2019:
The "canning" of foods has gotten very sophisticated. Remember, "canning" is nothing more than cooking food and their containers, then putting the cooked food in to "cooked" containers (cans or jars) that, once they're sealed, also shrink as they cool, creating a vacuum that makes any surviving bacteria/molds/decomposers starve. As we get closer to global warming extremes, you can and should expect longer power outages. Folks with gas cooking will have the adantage of being able to "Can" or "preserve" foods that those of us with just electricity won't have. Using pure nitrogen gas inside these packs also stops "oxidation" and starves 'aerobic" (oxygen breathing) bacteria...so that's one trick. (You might have heard about tire dealers using pure nitrogen to make the inside of your tires last longer). Vitamin C...ascorbic acid...has also proven to be an excellent preservative. And there's many more chemicals and techniques....most quite safe....although there were some experimental drugs that were used that created problems and issues. But today's "preserved foods"...even those from a couple of decades ago...are pretty safe. Those "use by" labels? That's relatively new...and used more to encourage you to replace older foods...than to warn you of them becoming dangerous. I even did a similar post a few months ago about very outdated "condoms" ....chances are good that they're still "useable and safe" as well...
This is actually a black and white photo, but an artist has drawn color lines through it. Your brain...
